Let's see...

1. Out of work for 9 months.
2. Using 1/2 of 5 years worth of ret. savings to make up the diff.
3. Using the other 1/2 to pay taxes on the previous.
4. After 2 years, I still have thoughts of putting a .270-Win round in a few peoples head, or center-mass, doesn't matter to me.

For some reason I don't see the good side of that even if we did make some money.

Sorry to sound a little harsh, but I didn't post it to be cheered up, I just needed to vent as opposed to ventilating someone else.

Thanks for trying though

I didnt really read it very well, now that I read it again...

Well anyways, he must have had alot of money in there to be taxed that much...

Ok, it sux..I would be pissed also...

Didn't even see the second page until after I posted the other reply. Maybe this will help put it in perspective.

Question 1: How close are your bills to your income? Most peoples are relatively close.

I was originally making around $800 to $1000 per week take home pay depending on the overtime I worked.

Unemployment was around $400 per week...hmmmm, that's a shortage of $400 per week minimum.

Question 2: How long would you survive if you went to work tomorrow and they reduced your pay by 1/2 (50%) without the need to subsidise that lower income another source? Most people would quit their jobs if they had to take a 1/2 pay cut.

Math time: $400/wk for 36 weeks = $14,400.

We used the money to pay off a few bills to allow me to take a job that payed less in order to get into the door. Now within 1-1/2 years, I have worked my way into a position that pays almost as much, but after 2 years, we're still playing catchup with everything.

I hope NO-ONE on this bored ever has to go through that on their own.

Damn stkr that really sucks now that you broke it down in detail.

Just remember that it could always be worse. You prolly don't want to hear that, and it doesn't help you much, but it is true. If we don't have our health, we have nothing. You got a great family to go through the hard times with, and that's what it's all about.

Good luck bro, Bill

Once you get behind it really sux trying to catch up...Well, good luck and come on down to central Illinois this summer on Memorial Weekend to my place, I have a ZRX/motorcycle get togeather at my house every year...Strap a sleeping bag on the bike and head down for the weekend, it is always a good time and very cost effective....

I might just do that Lloyd

This was really unexpected, and it's like gettin the wind knocked out of you. We're just starting to catch our breath again. I'm not sure what we're going to do to pay for this, but we'll work it out eventually.

Thanks for your support.

Man, sorry to hear....
Hope it all works out - but I agree taht if the IRS is already into you for that kind of cash, don't let them take the vacation from you too.

Stockerooni! By all means ( if you have filed yet... ) with that much money get a 2nd - 3rd ... professional opinion, by a few other CPA's. Many do not take advantage of all the various deductions that are available and of course legal. And there many be options because of your job loss ... it's worth a check.

I'm definately sorry to hear that, the IRS definately have no place anywhere near the Cayman Islands..... think about them when your on the john back home, but definately not in the Cayman Islands. Go enjoy yourself and know that none of them bastards can afford to go there
