the older riders

I am 63 and own a 03, love it and can't wait for the next big busa. I thought it might have come out for 2012 but maybe next year! I have owned fast superbikes since the first kz900 kawi, cbx, ninga 1000r, zx1100. This one is the best of all worlds, comfortable for long rides, 400 mile day trips, and fast enough to totally respect it! I think 60's will be no problem, 70's maybe,80's............ not worried; it's to far away. have fun.

No particular question in mind, just wanted to touch base with the older members; good to know other riders my age have not given in to what might be expected of them to slow down and maybe buy a harley and ride with others your own age or older.
Buy a Harley, are you yanking our old chains? Ha ha no offence to Harley or the 2 wheeled caravans riders out there but in my experience a certain mindset gained from an early biking age seldom changes, certainly not amongst riders I have contact with. I couldn't possibly consider a trike either but if they float your boat then ride on. At almost 61 I have zero intention of owning/riding a cruiser. I also own an R1200 GS as well as my 2 Busa's which is bad enough as my 2 adult lads call my GS an old mans bike, but they give me Kudos for riding a Busa. My youngest says I should gift him my Busa when I croak it. Age in my opinion only affects bike choice when health like worn out joints dictate otherwise. I was lucky enough to own several Ducati's over the years, the last being an 1198S which I sold about 3 years ago as it crippled me riding it. My latest acquisition is a 2022 Busa but even that I'm struggling with peg height so have recently ordered a set of 40mm lowered pegs which will make the world of difference. I have arms like an ape so the reach to the bars isn't an issue. I think the other big factor in bike choice is perhaps the riders partners insisting their fella/wife slow down. However I have been blessed with a very understanding and accommodating wife. Talking of age, is the Busa the sort of bike that much younger riders say in their early 20's attracted to, I personally haven't come across any Busa owners of that age.

My deepest respect :super: I also know a guy who’s 72 and rides the latest Fireblade. That proves that age doesn’t matter!
I am 57, I immediately sign to be able to ride such a motorcycle at your age.

Hi, I've been away from the forum for a while due to committments. I just turned 60 years old, and was curious if there are a number of riders in my age range who still ride a superbike. I tried the search engine for a similar post, but was not successful and I appreciate the help. I plan on riding for many more years to come, God willing, and I hope everyone else can too.
That's amazing, you are still riding a motorcycle in your early 60s. Your passion for superbikes lead you to enjoy riding at this age. Stay tuned n enjoy riding
