Then and now

83 Yamaha Maxim... Dead. 16 yr old on her cell phone at 9;30 pm turning left... head on.

I do however have my second.
83 Yamaha Virgo 750M.

196? Honda CL90 Scrambler when I was about 9. The one that had the high pipe and a regular motorcycle style gas tank and Manual clutch. Paid $50 for it at a garage sale. I loved that thing. Spent several years flogging the family CT90 prior to that. But this one was all mine! Try touching a running (or otherwise)Honda 90 now for that.

Damn, I miss my first streetbike. 1998 CBR600F3. Bored to 680 w/cams and polished head. It made only a few more horse than today's stock 600's.

I had many dirtbikes growing up.

I have no idea what it was. It belonged to my brother, but he let me ride it. It was yellow. An Enduro. Thinking it was a Suzuki, but could be wrong. Probably an early 70s model. I was 12 or so, and that was in 1980, maybe 1981.

I had to push start it. The clutch lever was broken, I just jammed it into the correct gear. It had 5 high and 5 low (he used to yell at me that I had it in "high" all the time

)

I would take it into the wheat fields behind our house in Colorado and jump it over ravines and dirt mounds by the oil derricks. No gear..

Several years later, my mom told me she thought I was gonna break my neck several times during that time.

Did I ever mention I was a tomboy?

I was actually trying to forget mine...

1984 Vulcan 750 frame with a 1981 Seca 750 motor in it. It was THE original Frankenstein bike.

The gauges were digital (

) and off of the Seca. Gas tank was Vulcan.

Funny, my 1st sportbike is an 88 Ninja zx7r, that i paid $100 for. (got it from a fellow board member) i had it up to 155 last week, and it was still pulling.

1978 Honda 750. Bought it new. Traded it in for a Corvette. Crashed the Vet. Bought a Suzuki 750. Traded it in for GS1100. Time...... Eventually, I ended up with my 06LE. Very happy with her.
