Good luck. The benefit of the doubt is on your side. The courts want these children to go to relatives who love them first before sending them elsewhere. Be honest with whatever they ask about your past; show them steady income, tell them that you grew up and show your desire to love and support these kids. +1000 on an attorney.

I can not see where it would be in the best interest of these children to be with total strangers rather than family. (Unless you are some kind of really, really, really terrible person that you are concealing from us.)

+1 on not letting CPS split them up in the mean time. The kids need each other in this time. It is amazing in this day and age how the government can come in and take your kids with or without cause and your are guilty until you prove otherwise.

My 2 Youngest Grandaughters were taken from My irresponsible Step Daughter Yesterday by The CPS (Child Protective Service)...........:down:

Now they are Ward of the Great State of California

You know you try, and you try, and you try to Help someone get responsible and Teach them about life............and the Children Pay in the End. :wtf:

In the long run, it sounds like having the children removed from their "irresponsible" mother might well be the best outcome for them. I hope it serves as a wake up call for her to become an adult.

It's not your fault your stepdaughter did not learn the lessons you tried to teach. You're doing the right thing by stepping up to accept the responsibility of caring for the kids.
