Throttle Response w/TRE

I'm glad to be registered. New to the forum, and looking forward to meeting everyone. I also have a question...I have ridden and owned several "superbikes", my Busa is by far the favorite ( 04 Black and Purple ). I installed a TRE, and went down one tooth on the front sprocket, but she still doesn't feel quite right.
I'll admit that I have not been riding very aggressive this year, but I have noticed that my Busa is not prone to lifting the front wheel. This is something that I expected coming in, especially with the mods. Does any one else feel the same?? When does the Busa start making her real power?? I hate to admit it, but I sort of miss the throttle response some of my carbureted bikes delivered. Any advice out there?

I get the hardest pull above 5,000 rpm. Since installing my TRE I have noticed it is quicker to respond, whereas before it would ease into the throttle input. That is a good thing but, I wanted it to respond immediately and with a vengance. By the way, I am running stock gearing.

If i get on it really hard from the get-go my front will raise just about everytime when i hit about 9k rpms. it just comes up nice and smooth. if you want it to come up, just hit about 5k in first, let off and get right back on it and the wheel will come up everytime. Becarefull or you will go over backwards. Also you need to realize that the buse has a longer wheel base then most and is also about 100 lbs heaver then the liter bikes. this makes a big difference. I am not really sure why you are haveing a problem though, like i said mine comes up all the time and I havenmt dropped a tooth in the front yet. I was all stock with a TRE. i just recently added a pc3 though but no other mods yet.

Yea what smoke dog said, It is a power commander 3 usb, used for adjusting fuel/air mixture to accomadate for your mods such as exhaust

How many miles you have on your bike? When I first got mine it didn't quite have the snap I was looking for either. But at 750 miles on the bike the engine loosened up nicely....and it now has all the power I expected and more. Stock, at over 5000 ft elevation the front will lift coming out of my fav uphill corner. But I agree you can feel the retarded timing in the first 3 gears...it does soften the hit up some. I'm gonna try a tre in the next couple days...I've heard everywhere that it gives more instant snap to the throttle...I hope it does

Besides getting it close to the 1000 mile break in time I'm not sure why yours still feels soft . It is a tall geared bike, and tall gears don't feel as fast as short gearing even when their faster. As long as everythings mechanically alright I'd gear it down a bit more.....

You have plenty of room for gearing...It shows what a motor the Busa has when it can pull 200 mph gearing and STILL be this fast.

If you geared it down close to what your other bikes had been geared for it would tear your arms off....lol

Depending on how you ride you man not need a tre. If you drag race that power down low will hurt your times because your tire will always break lose. But for regualr cruising it should be ok. If you want to see the busa make its power go to an empty road perferabily with grass on the sides( make sure you set a camera up so we can see how this turns out) anyway then you pin the throttle. This should give you all the power you ever wanted

I have one of the new GRE's it allows the bike to feel like it is riding on air on the low end and doubles the top end.

Well seriously if you took the stock gearing down to 16 you do not need a TRE you will never max out the speed of the bike.

Corsol-- no offence on the TRE, it has been covered about 1999 times. Most info you will find on the site. Most people don't listen anyway

Well guys I got some great advice from JC and Him on the tre deal.....I was just gonna pass and step up to the pcIII buut.....my local dealership sells tre's made by Dano's Performance, and they're only $34.95...a cheap experiment I figured. So any ways I bought one and put it on today...only got to get a short ride in, its cold as hell here now and I ran outta daylight. But, considering its the coldest weather I've ridden the Busa in yet, I definately noticed a much stronger hit right off throttle...instead of feeling the computer feed the power to you gradually (thanks Suzuki

), it hits much harder...more like a carbed bike. It didn't affect the mileage, hot/cold starting or anything else. Buuut....it does drop the idle by about 400 rpm's or so with the clutch out. So I have about 1500 rpms idle clutch in and about 1100 clutch out....which is np for me. Overall then, I guess I gotta say this is prolly the best 35 bucks I've spent in a long time

On a side note tho...getting to the plug and getting that tight sucker apart without breaking it was a challenge....I ended up using WD-40 and two small curved vise grips. So much for the 5 minute plug an' play as the ads say...lol

I have a 2002 Busa with Power Commander IIIr usb and a TRE from schnitz racing. I noticed an immediate improvement on throttle response but the idle dropped. I also had a hard time starting the bike. Seem to start cold. When I heard about the starter problems with the 02 models and earlier I spoke with the service manager at a local Suzuki shop. He told me that if I install the TRE and the starter fails, I would not be covered under warranty. The TRE advances ignition timing and can help cause kick back in the starter. I can feel the power come on at 4800 rpm. No problem with the wheel coming up under hard acceleration.

For two and a half years..my homemade TRE [tricks ECU into 5th gear all the time]..idles lower so at stop lights i flip the switch OFF.....or hold the clutch in..from my riding this long the infamous TRE only makes it smoother running at slow speed..and eliminates the lower redline in 6th--which i have yet to do.. And whats amazing--who are we to try and out do what Suzuki did. Point...my bike made [don't laugh] 1.2 HP's more with the TRE OFF..on the dyno in 4th gear, than using the TRE on using the 5th gear map.... Hmmm..people gettin' rich off sellin' TRE's..it's worth it if you don't like the way the Busa runs at slow speed..like 25 mph through town....

Oh yea --wheelies---yup 5k snap off snap on up she goes..i live at 5000' WooHoo.
At sea level..just gasit..careful now..pure beast...but predictable..Brain+wrist control...mandatory...

is that mapped?

also you need to find a better dyno or one with a closer weather station. according to the specs the barometic pressure that day was 30.70 I highly doubt it. example as of right now your correcttion factor should be...1.187 and it is 46 degress right now with high humidity
