Time for the Chain Game again......

That's a good picture for me to advertise haha.

It is yours to use as you see fit, 'bro!

Never feel sorry for a bike that is RIDDEN! The "poor BUSA's" are stuck at home in somebody's garage rotting away with zero miles on them...

Almost 12000 miles in a year does not qualify as stuck in the garage. My BUSA is anything but poor. I just keep it very clean and she looks like new. SO I guess you would say she is Loved!

Wasn't making a dig at you, just stating a fact.. Ask anyone who knows me, mine is cleaner today than it was in the showroom floor when I bought it. But I don't ever feel sorry for a used bike, no matter how dirty.

Well.... to most LD Riders, cleaning the bike simply takes away valuable riding time.

Besides.... Ponch here has the correct perspective.....

Warchild: Just curious how your EK ZZZ is looking since you've got it on? I have about an inch or more difference in play now between my tight spot and loose spot. It's been a 3k for me since my last post in this thread, and it's noticeably worse.

I have about 2500 miles on it now... it has been unremarkable thus far ("unremarkable" in the medical sense: nothing adverse to report; chain behaves as advertised.)

Aside from a cursory finger-check for proper 25mm slack at the mid-point between the sprockets, I haven't touched the chain, nor have needed to adjust it in any way since installation.

I have about an inch or more difference in play now between my tight spot and loose spot.

Ack! So if you're adjusting it proper, the tight spot should still have 25-ish mm of play, which would make your loose spot around 2" of play?

Bummer deal..... seems really odd for it to go bad this soon; are you 100% certain there is not something else afoot here? Like a slight misalignment in sprockets, or some such? ???

Well, glad to hear your results are not mimicking mine so far.

As far as I can tell everything is correct with the sprockets, and they look fine - no pulled teeth/wear. There is no noticeable wobble etc. I am going to pull the front cover today or tomorrow and get a closer look again though.
