Tire question

Looking more closely at the bike I see that it has bridgestone battleax on the front and a 190 Continental on the back. Was wondering if mixing brands like this was a problem. Felt fine first time out but don't want to be suprised by something I can fix early. I was looking at tires and one site did say something about not mixing brands, hmmmmm. Any words of widsom on this one? Thanks.

It's not a problem to mix the brands...You'll go thru more rear tires than you will fronts...If by chance they both wear out at the same time then you can get a matching set...Otherwise your fine...

Its not gonna kill ya....but try to not mix sport tires with touring tires or radials with bias ply tires....

busafng, I mix all the time for the same reasons stunnah said, but make sure they are very similar componds, do not mix soft & hard tires.

I MIXED THE O.E.M. BRIDGESTONE BATTLE AXE FRONT W/ A MICHELIN PILOT SPORT REAR. I NOTICED A SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE FOR THE 1ST 200K OR SO, BUT NOW IT'S FINE. IT SWAYED QUITE A BIT.

A buddy of mine made a big deal of it a couple days ago..... I see nothing wrong with mixing the brands of tires.

I mixed mine because they didnt have the super corsa front in stock,I went with a michelin pilot sport, no problems, both stick like glue!

Not a problem. Sometimes you might have a little wobble at high speeds though. Nothing major

Mixing is not a problem, as far as your using similar tyre compunds in the front and rear! It also helps to have close to similar thread patterns for high speed stability... but then again, it does not matter too much if the compound is the same!!
