Tires and more tires

Hey guys, anybody tried the Z6 or continetal road attacks. Both have a 0 degree belt design. I would like to run a sport compound up fron and a sport touring in the back to cut down on so much wear. What are you guys running?

Just wore out my first rear (5600miles) and slapped on another BT56. When this ones gone (around Spring) thinking of going with Pilot Powers or Sportecs.

How in the he** did you get 5600 miles one the OEM rear? My wear bars are showing and I've only got 2850 miles on mine

I've got a Pilot Power rear I'm getting ready to put on - we'll see how that does

Wear bars, what wear bars? mine were gone. Dyno mapping chewed up the rear some (wasn't strapped down tight enough), should have replaced it last month, then it would have been around 4400 miles.

I am partial to the Metzler Sportec M1s (the ones specifically made for the busa). Wearing great even after a whole season of drag racing. Can't even see a flat spot. I will go with them again next time too.

+1 on the M1's, my favorite by far. However, the best I've done on the rear is 2350. Glad they're cheap!

I got 7,000 miles out of my OE Bridgestones - had maybe 1,000 left on the rear and a lot more on the front. But the rear just felt "greasy" exiting corners and the front, with that straight center groove, loved to follow grooved pavement. I had RoadAttacks installed and like them a lot more. They made a very noticeable improvement in the handling - more responsive and turn in to corners a lot quicker - and with a little over 2,000 miles on them, they appear to be wearing well. My son also put them on his R6 and noticed a handling improvement over the Dunlop 208s he took off.

One important thing that a rep from Continental advised me of is to keep 42 PSI in them. Believe it or not, that really makes a difference!

One of the cycle magazines recently did a sportbike tire comparison test and didn't like the Contis but I sure do! I guess they don't have a "racy" enough name.

Its a Busa I've come to the conclusion nothings gonna last very long

I'm running the metz m-1 Like the stickyness of them compared to the bt-56. not gonna last as long though.

I have run almost everything now but pirelli and shinkos.  I either gonna go with the continental road attack or a shinko 005 up front and the 009 raven in the rear. I ride my bike different that most in being that I use it almost entirely for transportation and not so much as just a weekend ride. Don't get me wrong, but I love these super sticky tires that come on the bikes like the bt56 and powers, but they wear out too quickly in the middle due to my interstate rider in Knoxville. I have a 50 mile round trip I make to college night classes frequentely. I just looking for the most life without being dangerous.

The Michilen Pilot Road has long tread life.

im at a little over 3k on stock rubber. Going with the Dunlop 208 GP's probably come spring.

Tires will last depending on how hard you push them. Somebody got 8,000miles on this while someone only got 4,000 miles.

Running a harder compound on the rear will help for longevity, just be careful adding power, especially in a corner. The harder compound while give the tire longer life but less grip also.

I got 8,000 on my oem's, not many twisties at all. Mostly commute to work and some 200-300 highway days. A local shop hooked me up on some Attacks for $125/ea and said if I didnt get comparable wear from them he'd give me next set of my choice for the same $125/ea. He said if it doesnt say Pirrelli, Bridgestone, Michellin or Pilot then nobody wants them. A sort of promotional hookup I guess. The flip side is if they do perform I have to have Continental Branded on my right Bicep! I only have about 200 mls on the Attack.
