Tires, Its that time again.

Sixpac,
no offense taken. is the roadsmart ST for $99 worth the money for me?

Yes sir.
The Q2's will be great for your trackday, and the street.
The Roadsmart rear/Q2 front is a good choice for grip and wearing evenly front to rear.
All in how much and how often you want to spend on tires

Heck I'm going on over 8,000 miles on my Avon Storm 2s with plenty left and I don't think I've had to adjust my chain in more than 10k. I had to ride all the way to friggin North Carolina to wear off the Elephants! (It was worth it but still pretty dang far :) )
Unfortunately since I came back she once again is relagated to nothing more than kickstand angle.
Might as well call me Granny Busa. :(

Decision made...since I get them so cheap as a member of California Superbike School..Q2s it is...$260 a pr to my door or any of my wrenches door. Thanks all for the input.

That seems like a good price for the pp3s. I'm pretty much locked into the Q2s right now so that's what I went for. Thanks again everyone for all the help.

I had Q2's on my Bking...OK but wasn't that great in cold conditions..had Roadsmarts on my Gen1 Busa at the same time and prefered them..even withstood a trackday...much grippier than many would expect and did about 6k miles to a rear...Bking killed the Q2 in half that.
Q2's are now outdated and the Q3 is available...so Q2 prices should be dropping bit by bit this year.
Been using Michelin myself for the last 2 years on a ZZR1400 and Tuono V4...very impressed with newer Mich stuff...good wear and predictable grip.
Locally ( UK ) Dunlop have a Sportsmart tyre that replaced the Q2 a few years ago...much better allround performance.
However i'll going to try a combo of Bridgestone S20 fr with a T30 rear.

Hey Tuf , how come you didn't tell him that the Shinkos are the best!

I run 2CT's, and I love them. I hit the twisties every week, sometimes 3 times, and even ran them at Willow Springs with no issues. It's a preference that is tied to riding style and ability when it comes to tires. I tend to roll on kind of hard out of corners, and I have never lost confidence. Also, try playing around with your tire pressure a little bit to find your comfort zone. Lastly, the guys on Liter Bikes running the Pilot 3's seem to love them, but they are dealing with less weight and torgue.

Q3..WTF? I just aquired three Q2 rears and one front. I got them all for $440 since my tire and wheel covered the one that flatted while I was out riding and got the other three for the price from the School. Had no idea about the Q3s but I should be good for tires for the season...I ride over a hunred mi per day. Not that I'm a big deal, I just do and I like it! Wasn't fun when the tire went down, scared me a little but it was a gradual thing and I pulled off in time.
