Tires?

Heard you were da tire master. What happens to be your tire of choice????

Depends on your needs coupled with your skill level. All the major manufacturers make good tires. However, I've learned my michelin lessons well. I won't discourage you from buying michelins but will tell you if this latest generation is like the PP line they are sensitive to air pressure.

I guess you could say I have lost my confidence in michelin tires.

My favorite performance street/track tire is the Dunlop Q2, an amazing tire. My second choice is Bridgestone's BT016 seen here at work. Notice the elbow only inches off the deck. I don't think I'd try that on a michelin pilot pure.

let us know how this turns out for you. I'd love to see what kind of miles your able to get out of them.

From what I have researched the Power One is available in a track day tire and a full out race tire, so it is definetly geared towards track riding.

What kind of riding do you plan on doing with these tires?

Tires are in,just need to mount them.Mostly street rydin, but they will see da track also! Will post on proformance later.

Michelin also had a great advertising campaign when they came out with their infamous Pilot Power line which turned out to be very sensitive to air pressures and the most crash prone tire of it's era.

Ummm interesting...and where did you get the data to support that statement...link to the test info ???

It's common knowledge to any tire guy who is worth his salt that Michelins are more sensitive to tire pressure than other tires.

It's not difficult to check air pressure is it?

Tired of people spouting BS without any actual facts...

Where is the info to support a claim that a tire is "...the most crash prone tire of it's era" ???

As a disclaimer: I would run a set of Michelins if the price was right. i.e. 2CT, Pures, what ever their race tire is. Not my first choice but I don't think of Michelins as a crap tire.

There is alot of buzz out there on the way that Michelins "let go". When they let go they really let go. Yes alot of it is just "buzz", however when you read enough stuff on the internet and then see a few guys at the track having similar issues to what you have read on the internet, it kind of validates some of what you have been reading.

Gotta say I LOVE THESE TIRES! My bike has never handled better. It just falls into corners and the bike feel lighter.Next test da track!

Your BS is some peoples facts!

Don't take my word for it, spend a little time paying attention to the folks that do know tires such as Dave Moss who says clearly in one of his videos that Michelins are a good tire but they are VERY sensitive to tire pressure.

Dave reads tires like you read toilet paper (Soft and plyable or rough and harsh). Dave says michelins can respond to as little as 1/2 pound of pressure. Dave also reminds people who run michelins to check the pressure often throughout the day as tire pressure will change as the OAT (Outside Air Temp) increases.

I will say that Dave was referring to the Pilot Power crop of Michelins. The current crop of Power tires may not have those same pressure issues.

Enroll in one of Daves Suspension Clinics or spend $800 for a day of private tutoring. You'll learn much about suspension, tires and how the two relate to each other. I have no facts that you will learn something, it's only an assumption! All I can offer as a fact is the fact that I learned much from Dave Moss!

Tufbusa, just go ahead tell him that you love the Shinkos and anything else is inferior. Everyone knows it.:rofl::rofl:

I was just trying to get your blood pressure up

. I'll stick with my BT016/BT023 combo that you so selfishly put me on to. Thanks for that advice.
