i bought a 02 busa of a guy,an just as soon as i took it to the local track, i notice second gear would make the bike jerk,i found out that it needed undercut, ive only had the bike foe 9 months,an im having to snatch the motor back out to have second cut again,i was told that i needed a airshifter to keep this from happening again, ive heard different stories about what a airshifter will do to a trans ,both good an bad.should i spend the money in getting one.

Who did the undercut....

There is more to it than just undercutting two gears. Usually you have to replace at least one fork and possibly the shift shaft. If it has been beat on, the drum can be damaged as well.

If not carefully inspected and repaired, you will be doing it again. The air shifter is not going to be better on it than a correct foot shift.

send the trans out to R and D in florida , there is a waiting list but it will be worth it , get a race cut , billit outputshaft heavy dut

Be prepared to part with about $900 if you do.... IF your input shaft is still good.

I shipped my spare out to him Friday. (the stocker in my bike is still good)

I think you might mean HD shift fork shafts instead of the forks however.

Well worth it , trans on my 05 started jumping at 4000 miles ,while i dont go to the dragstrip I ride probably alot harder on the street than i should after 35,000 hard miles , the trans has not skipped a beat !
so well worth the investment in my opinion

I still have not decided on the billet output shaft...yet. Zuk saw the need to increase the size to on the 08s so there may be plenty of reasons to do it.
