Turbo runs like Sh*t!

(03HAYABOOSTA @ Oct. 14 2006,14:32) I didnt recieve the map.  ive been looking everyday afterwork for it.  a guy a few messages above asked about my cams and timing.  the cams are stock and i have no idea what the timings like.  i had the motor built at a shop in long island known for fast a$$ turbo bikes.  i have no idea what the timimgs set at, he has his own degree wheel he uses.  im thinking maybe i have a bent throttle body butterfly, anyone have any ideas how to check for that??
Shoot, you should have shot me another PM. I'm on duty today. I'll send it to you again. Does your email have a Junk Mail or Spam Fryer?

Send me your email addy again, and I'll try again. Sorry.

(03HAYABOOSTA @ Oct. 14 2006,12:39) Oh and to answer another question above, all the vaccuum lines are DEF installed right.  i checked and double checked.  plus the shop that built the bike installed everything after they built my motor.  im not a fan of velocty's tech support, i think they all took the short yellow bus to school when they were younger.  i could ask 2 or 3 guys the same specific question, and get 3 different answers.  ive even spoken to Barry Henson from velocity.  didnt help that they sent me the wrong dump pipe from the get go either....sent me a pipe for an external wastegate but im running the stage 1 kit which has an internal gate so the pipe wouldnt let the wastegate open.  id never reccomend velocity to anyone.  wish i woulda bought an RCC or Hahn kit

I dont recall speeking to you about this issue, nor is it a turbo related problem. Everyone always wants to point their finger at the turbo manufacturer, when most of the time it is an install problem. I am here every day taking tech calls. Rather bash on Velocity when you have not called, why not call and get the problem fixed??? I am here 10 to 5 monday thru friday. Just call and we will be glad to help. I do it every day. Barry

i got my kit from velocity back in 03, i had alot of questions since it was my first turbo...i always get an answer, the only time i don't is when they are at the race....last time i was trying to find so AN fittings could not find they locally call velocity and they fedex it to me the next day along with a doungle for my secondary computer, all free including shipping...

Barry, I had the kit installed by Frank @ Powerhouse in LI NY. Ive seen his bikes run at the track and have spoke to alot of guys that had there bikes built by him. hes got a really good rep and his bikes move out. im sure everything is installed properly. i know he called u guys about the pipe/wastegate problem. your frank spoke to frank from powerhouse and said that a few of your stage 1 kits went out with the wrong dump pipes. if you guys new about it why not call the costumers and tell them? i personally called u guys twice to ask about snyc the throttle bodies because i wasnt sure if the procedure was the same being the bike was turbo'd. i spoke with 2 different people and got 2 different answers. honestly Barry, i wish i never turbo'd my bike....just a waste of my time and money.

I had a similar issue and it was my throttle body blades being bent frank@ powerhouse changed them to some from RCC and the bike runs just as smooth as it did when i just had a pipe on it,all the way to redline, powerhouse did my turbo last year.

There is a little check valve that should be installed in the vacuum line to the FMU,if its not there, the bike will run like crap or so I'm told,I installed mine, first time with anything turbo'd,if I can do it,anybody can,I think the customer service thing with Velocity has been covered,Barry has been more than helpful with me and others, dont talk to Franky, just speak to Barry when you call.I seriously doubt there's something wrong with the kit,if there is maybe a FMU problem, but I doubt it.I would venture to say that there is a problem with the power commander, its been documented that some were bad from jump street.

thats true could be the pc also mine had to be swaped out also but power commander sent me a new one for nothing not even shippning cost

I would be sure your vac line to map sensor with its T fitting and ck valve is installed correctly this setup changes with different turbo sytems also that the map sensor itself is in good condition this is most likely cause being that you just have the off idle low speed driveability issue [ learned the hard way ]

Do you or have you run race fuel??? i have this problem too. since you have the stage 1 kit you do not have the secondary injectors right? i have a stage 2 kit. but my problem is that my plungers in my stock injectors were pitted from the race fuel (c16) eating them just a lil bit. but anyways that caused the injector to hang up and drag when opening/closing. runs like **** till you get them really moving. my bike will accelerate like mad but will not cruise at all. email me at biggallemore@hotmail.com if u have any other questions.

oh and i had NO problems with velocity. there kit is bad ass and they have been very helpfull. the only problem i have had is that i gotta buy new underwear everytime i ride the bike.

Well I just got talked into a stage 1 velocity kit on another post that I will be buying in the next 2 weeks or so and my cuiz (derek) is friends with the owner of powerhouse. They are going to be dyno tuning my 06 busa for me. I hope I dont have any problems or make the wrong choise on the kit.

Not sure if you resolved this issue yet. We had one in the shop with similiar results. Narrowed it down to a fuel related issue after compression testing and a leak down test. We also switched the start-up mode into dealer mode which showed no issues in the error code department. The TPS needed to be adjusted but was not the cause of the issue.  Then we put it on the dyno and while at idle the bike was showing a 18 to 1 air fuel ratio (so we did not run it), obviously dangerously lean. The culprit, damaged injectors as a result of race fuel and no fuel filter on the fuel line. The bike sat with race fuel in the tank for months. Not sure if you are using race fuel but be sure you drain it after each use. Research shows it will tear up fuel pumps and injectors if not flushed after each use as soon as overnight. Just a tip that worked in this very case.
