Speaking of Canadian.... What about the maniac with the elbows? David Loiseau

Goto to admit I really like ole Rich Franklin aka Jim Carrie (at least I think so)

Haha! Could you imagine getting your butt kicked by Jim Carrey!

Man, that Gracie vs. Hughes fight is gonna be something else. I think Matt will take him though. Although Gracie has more experience, he has more age too. This is basically gonna be Franklin vs. Shamrock.

Speaking of which, has anyone heard who the coaches for Ultimate Fighter season 3 will be?

Dana White said it'll make for good TV.

Gracie!!! He and Chuck Liddell are two guys I have always rooted for. Chuck is just plain fun to watch. His stand up puching is scary. Watch him in slow mo. He finds openings that just aren't there for most. And Gracie, sometimes when he's on the ground he looks like he's finished, then the other guy will start frantically tapping out. He was the ultimate 'sleeper'. I heard him say he retired because the competitors were getting to damn big. I can't imagine going toe to toe with a guy who has 100 lbs. on you.
In my school I do pretty well in sparring. However, There are two that I spar that whoop my ass every time. One is the instructer (and he's holding way back) and the other is one of the black belts that weighs about 230 and is 4-5 inches taller than me. I've popped him once or twice and not much happens. I hip check him and that keeps him away a liitle. Other guys I hip check get knocked off balance and I go in for the kill. He just gets sort of high centered but never enough for me to take advntage of. He's only head shotted me afew times but I tell you, you can feel the weight difference. I can recover from head shots from every other person I spar in the school except those two. I get that mushy legs you can't control thing going on, and the desire to turn away (NEVER EVER TURN AWAY).
Anyway, pint of all this is that I love Gracie because he faces these giant monsters and wins. It seem impossible every time, but he does it. He has taken heavier and heavier beatings over time as the opponents have gotten bigger, but he still wins.

The UFC isn't what it was when Gracie fought in it. In his days it was tournament based, 2 rules (no biting, no eye gouging), and there were no weight classes.

Now he'll only fight opponents in his weight range and he won't have to hold back since he'll only have to fight once.

I think he'll be much more comfortable in today's UFC than the one he knew.

One of my buddies friends fights UFC- Nick Diaz, The Gracie camp has been training him for years. Now the Gracies have taken his little brother under their wings. Nick has signed to fight Sean Sherk at the UFC April 15th show.

St. Pierre is definitely a stud! Matt Hughes is a tough fight for anyone. All of those guys at that level are so good it's really just a matter of who makes the first mistake....because the other guy WILL capitalize on it.

For the record, I really like Forrest Griffin. I've been following his career for a few years now (prior to the UFC). His trainers, Adam and Rory Singer, are a good group of guys!

Sorry Spigga....just realized the trick to your post....I really can read, I promise. LOL!!!

St Piere seems to have fast skills, but its his anticipation that wows me.

In that last fight,he just seems unmoved, unshakin',and counters every move that was thrown at him. Every single thing that was tried,he not only overcame, but also turned it around quickly. If his tuffness grows,I think he'll be a force.

he will be fun to watch.

And ya, shame about the rules, and weight classes, but its the way of all things. People like winners. More weight classes, more winners.

RSD.

Has anyone seen whos on the card for the next UFC (UFC 59)?

Forrest Griffin vs. Tito Ortiz

Tim "The Maniac" Silvia vs. Andre Arlovski (I know I didn't spell his name right, but he's the Heavyweight champ and the guy with the fangs).

This should be an interesting one.

Saturday April 15. UCF 59 "Reality check".

The Pitbull all the way, it'll be over in less than 90 seconds. The fangs are his mouth piece. This dude is just a stud, period!
