UNDERTAIL OPTIONS

(Shibumi @ Dec. 31 2006,19:21) This is what you get by just cutting off the shovel and getting a Clear Alternatives integrated turn signal LED unit off eBay for about $89. Much cleaner than stock, if you want more a new undertail will run $200-300.

Just did the same thing this past weekend except I chose the "Crystal" Clear tail light. I also chose to keep the faster paced turn signals...more annoying...almost strobe like.

Use a dremmel for cutting and sanding to make it easy.

Also, with all the chain grease and road grime that gets thrown underneath the tail I would be cleaning the inside of the undertail w/ WD-40 after every ride.

I'll be gettinga hugger sometime this year.

(kairles @ Jan. 02 2007,22) I think I will cut it off I was riding with the temp. plate and it fell off. I have a plate bracket just needs a little modification to make it work.

Hey kairles, cut off the OE holes and drill two more a little higher up above the notch to raise the license plate a bit...then turn the OE license plat bracket upside down to give you a better/sharper angle for the license plate.

Go ahead and chop that little flap, take a sander to the whole area and get a cheap tag bracket at your local bike shop. I found one for $10 that works great.

Actually, the way I did it prior to getting my mototek was using my stock plate mounting bracket, flipping it upside down, and bolting it through the plastic just behind the reflector under the brake light. It was clean and worked great and cost $0.

i just cut mine off and left a 2 inch tab and centered my license plate and drilled new hole in it cheap and effective same your money on something that will give you power od riding better
