Up north to the "deep south" ride

Did you go by the 'Bollweevil Monument' while you were in Enterprise?  I've spent a little time there over the course of my life.  Looks like a fun trip.
We rode past the BollWeevil motel. We also rode through the old part of town, if it was there I probably did ride past it.

Thanks for the pics. Looks like you had a nice trip. I love taking roads I have never taken and seeing new sights!

Great pics, sure sounds like fun. I may have to get a nice distance ride in her ein the next few weeks while my wife is on a trip with the boys....

Kevin, it was a real pleasure to meet and ride with you & Kent. I really wish I could have stayed a bit longer.

After a few more hours of riding in the hot Florida sun, we were ready for a break, so we met up with Jason aka fsusux, he led us over to Wakulla springs where we took a dip to stay cool.

Mom's shop, with her new hybrid in front of it.

Don't worry, there are bike and ride pictures coming.

Is that a work of art or what, they should just remove all that stuff from the walls and fill the room with hayabusas.

We went for a ride this morning, wound up in the town of Demopolis. This is their downtown. I call it the town of small parking spots, we couldn't even really get both bikes in one spot comfortably.

Another old ad from the side of a building.

Riding northward out of town we rode past a field with a bunch of weird looking "artwork" we pulled in to get a photo with the tin man.

We soon realized that we had forgotten to get gas in Demopolis and we were well out of town. We decided to keep riding and hope we made it to a gas station. I was sweating, and not just because of the heat, I took the size of my tank, divided by the miles I had driven and the mpg my trip computer was reading and figured we'd better find a station soon. We did not run out of gas, we rolled into a station with 215 miles on the trip odo.

Kent's bike gave us a little trouble there so we did some onsite troubleshooting and repair.

We rode north, and west until we came to a north/south highway that ran along the western edge of Alabama. We wanted to ride in Mississippi just so we could say we had, so when I came upon a road that looked like it went west, I turned down it. It progressively got worse and this is what it looked like just before the pavement ended.

There were no markers, but I think that was the state line. We took a few photos there. This one has us in it rather than just bikes, it proves we were actually there.
