Used Busa.

Hi guys.
I have been looking to buy a Busa for a while now but prices around here seams to be to high for the used ones so I got..... this close..... to buy a new 08.
Just yesterday I found what seams to be a good deal on a slightly used 06 with only 1500 miles on it and the color I like, blue silver, for $7500. Much better for my budget!
Can you give me any suggestions ,or info, on what to look for when I check out the bike in person before I drop the cash?
Thanks.
Happy and safe riding to you all.
Falco.

1500 miles , hell its still new ! Check for service reciepts , and look for scratches . I don't remember any recalls on any year after 02.

Make sure all the peoridic maintenance has been done to the bike.If it has a custom paint job it may have been down. Check the condition of the tires, brakes, chain, oil and coolant. Start the engine cold and check for blue smoke and noise that could indicate engine damage . Check the head stock bearings for smoothness.Ask Quesions like how the bike has been ridden.Any problems. If the seller is not cooperative or surly move on.Look for leaks. if any thing needs replacing deduct it from the asking price.

Thanks,
Frisbee and Big Red .
I appreciate the input.

I bet you can find a brand new 06 or 07 in the $8000 range.. I find it a tough choice to buy a machine like this that is "used"

without knowing "who, what and where" After watching some of the boobtube videos and what some bikes go through, it gets to be an even less likely purchase I would make..

if you were ready to spring for an new 08, shop for an 07... I am sure that there are great used bikes, I just think if you can afford it, a new bike is a better option.. (just my opinion)

Yup Mr Bogus,
I thought about that too! But the lowest priced 2006 i found around here is $9000.00 down in Okeechobee that is only $1500.00 away from a 2008.
Do you know of any place where I could find a better deal on a new 06/07 by any chance?

I bought mine from these guys in March of 07 for $8700 OTD Xtreme Suzuki in Ohio, they have 3 or 4 dealers. I called, arranged the pricing and they had me in and out in like 10 minutes (paid cash)

Insist on having the owner start the bike up for you. I was looking at a bike and the owner started it up for me and warmed it up by redling it it from a cold dead start! Needless to say I did not buy the bike!
