I already ordered the VR kit and am waiting for it to come it, I got a package deal with the stage 1 kit, extended swingarm, low pro oil pan and lowering links. I'm not having second thoughts about my purchase but would like some pointers on the install and if anyone has run into any problems..

For the race velocity kits you may want to talk to some of the member on psychobike there are plenty of drag race guys on that site running veloity race kits. Alot of guys on this site run more street oriented kits or street/race. Members seem to lean more to RCC here.

I'm not trying to drive you away from the site or the kit just passing along some info.

The Velocity kit is a good kit, hopefully you got it with the external wastegate. As far as the install is concerned, you would be wise to let an experienced turbo install shop do the install for you, for a variety of reasons. If you are handy with tools and want to tackle the job yourself, go for it. Just make sure you get it tuned at a reputable shop that has tuned turbo bikes before . . .good luck, and congrats.

What Powerhouse said. Get it tuned by someone who has an eddy current dyno and has done turbos before. I have one and have been racing it since 2007. I have written many articles about it on Dragbike.com.

It took me about 6 hours to install.

If you are just using it for the street you will have no problems with the stock internals. If you plan on racing it every weekend like I do, you will need to start doing some internal modifications.

I am no mechanic and I managed to fit the kit to my k8 with no problems. My only critisism would be the internal wastegate as Powerhouse stated.

Take your time, follow the instructions and it will be fine. If you are unsure, you can PM me or ask on this forum.

Fitting it yourself will help you understand how it works etc....then get it tuned by someone who knows what they are doing.
