VERY Dark/Dirty Clutch Fluid??? Cause?? Fix??

Try D.O.T 5 brake fluid, gotta flush the D.O.T 4 completely

5.1 = OK, 5 flushing is not enough, as the two don't mix at all, even remnants are a problem.
Harley comes with 5 from the factory, just for info. Both are a total overkill though, especially for the clutch.

It cant... use logic... if dirt could get in dont you think the high pressure of the fluid would pizz out in a stream... Some just write things that they think and are not always accurate information.

Look at your diagram that # 21 thats the clutch pushrod it goes directly in front of that sprocket. It collects dirt from the chain and when u use the clutch that rod moves back and forth and puts deposits of oil or dirt in that slave cylinder.i was just trying to help, it did not hurt anything by cleaning that slave cylinder out.or at least to check it.thats what happened to my bike, was it had alot of grime in that slave cylinder and it all had to be replaced..u think it would pour out if dirt gets around that slave cylinder with pressure but its really hard to tell if its leaking.i noticed in your diagram that a gen2 has an extra piece the gen1 dont have which is like that sandseal i was talking about..the gen1 does not have that piece.so that would really help keep stuff out of that slave cylinder.
Sorry for any inconvenience i may have caused anyone..

But..it is a good idea to keep the slave cylinder area clean, I trashed mine on the Strom from salt and crap buildup by about 45000 miles (like parts 25 & 26 in the schematic).
