The cage had no chance to brake at that point. The rider came out of nowhere, probably below the drivers line of sight, and by the time the driver knew anything he/she was on a roller coaster ride getting banged around in the cab. I don't think I would have wanted them to slow down on top of me if it was me.

Oh man! I was waiting for someone to find some sort of fault with the cager. Didn't brake.
