I think I finally made up my mind!!! Decided that I'm going to get an older busa for now and ride it for a couple seasons, then spring for a brand new one later on. I found a stock 2002 with 8k miles 45 mins away from me. The guy is asking 6k for it, but said his bottom dollar is $5500. Being me, I'm still going to try to get him around $5200. He says the bike is in perfect shape, but he just doesn't ride it enough. He only rode twice last year and just had a new born, so really no time now.
While I'm down there, I'm checking out a 2004 with a custom paint job for $5500 also, but this one has 17k miles and I know the guy who is selling it has friends that race busas although he says this one hasnt been raced.
It seems that no matter how old a busa is, the value remains around 5k as long as its in good shape, so riding for a couple seasons will not result in me losing a ton of money when I sell down the road.
I think I'm leaning more towards the 2002 bike. You guys feel like that's a fair price, as long as the bike is in great shape?
Thanks for putting up with me this long. Hopefully pics of my new baby will be up tomorrow!!!
