What should a person do with an '09 if they want to consistently hit 8 anything in the 1/4. Even if it is 8.99, 9 out of 10 times, that counts.

Evaluate how deep pockets are firstly. :) Gonna have to spend some dough. Power adder (turbo/nitrous) and/or an engine build/modification...might be able to just do top end etc...

I'm sure you'll get an array of opinions here.

Check out the MIRock Series they have a crazy 8's class, where the dial is 8.88, check out psychobike.com.

big motor, nitrous, stretch, hayes clutch, sticky tire. maybe an airshifter as well, for consistency.

If you have a good rider(clutch hand) and he weighs under 250(maybe a bit more) suited up; then you can get there with a swingarm/extensions, chain, sprockets, clutch mod, tripletree/spacers, front strap, rear links, air filter, race exhaust, tune, tire, cut seat(not required but helps), air shifter, and time.

A really good example of this was Sean from Califonia. He weighed 230 suited and ran consistent 8.8s and the occasional 8.9

He use to go by SG1320 on some forums and sean06 on here.

For a Gen II, You can go chassis, motor, or both. Gen I bikes need both.
A drag tire, 8 over arm, re-valved shock, and slammed bike will go high 8s with stock motor at 153 to 156 mph if its tuned correctly and if you get your 60' times mid to low 1.4s.

I forgot the shock. Good call.

I have a Gen 1 that runs 8.90s in really bad air and ran 8.77 at MIROCK last weekend. My bike is very stretched and lowered, has head work, and Hayes clutch. Bottom end of the motor has never been apart other than to swap in FBG undercut transmission.

Never been on a Gen 2, but guessing you could easliy run 8s with only chassis & clutch. Remember weight has a lot to do with it as well. Best part of making this happen without touch motor internals is reliability. Suzuki builds them very well !!!

One of our bikes runs in Real Street which is stock wheelbase, hand clutch (no lockup). It is a Stage One turbo with a good rider, making a little over 300 rear wheel to the tire. He has gone as quick as 7.9 and as fast as 187. He made it to the semis at the last event . . . I have another street rider, again, a turbo with less than 300, he goes 8.40s all day at over 170.

If you want consistent 8s, get a turbo, air shifter, and get out there and practice a lot . . .

Get the shock dialed in and a Gann or Hays clutch. Get these 2 things working for you and with a stretch and a tune and you'll save money and beat most stage 1 turbo busas. There are guys turning 1.3-1.4 60fts with stock motors and a good clutch/chassis setup.

What times are you running with it now???

Is it completely stock ???

If you did any mods to it what were they, extended swingarm or performance upgrades???

Need to know where you at before you can find a way to get where you want to be

Some people here are running low nine's with hardly anything done to them
