do you loose or gain anything by having the 6th like the 5th except going over 186?

yes but it is handy to have the service manual as well.i am interested in this......do u provide directions on removing the sensor?the cliffnote version is I mod the gear position sensor so it reads 1-n-2-3-4-5-5 unlike
a tre that reads 5-5-5-5-5-5-5
or a smart TRE 5-n-5-5-5-5-5
this way you keep the correct map in the correct gear

This mod does NOTHING to the ECU or REV LIMITER. This mod removes the computer restriction on 6th gear ONLY. All it does is let 6th gear REV to 10,800 on 01+ model bikes! How far wil the bikes rpms go after this mod ? Is it unlimited or do you still need to change the ECU (I think thats what its called) ?
Installing a TRE without it being mapped for it is going to throw off your PC. It will be giving all gears the 5th gear reading so you won't get MAXIMUM HP!Correct me if i'm wrong here...
If i have a PCIII installed and it was custom-mapped by a dealer on a Dyno... This is useless right?
Also i was curious... I installed a TRE after the mapping, does this affect anything?
It is located just behind your clutch basket on the right side of the engine. Not to hard to get to but you have to take out the basket.Hey JC is that a internal part to remove ,or is it pretty simple to do?
