Water coming out exhaust?

Hey guys, I have a Hayabusa engine in my sandrail, it has a turbo on it set at 12 pounds of boost. After really getting on it for an hour or so, it started running a bit warm, about 225 degrees. I let it cool down for a while and it ran about 205 or so just cruising. The next day, when I started it I noticed small water specks coming out of the exhaust, but went away after a couple of minutes of running. I freaked, and checked the coolant, the level was fine, maybe just a little low. I checked the oil, it looked like oil. My question is, if I have a head gasket just starting to go bad, what are the ways I can tell for sure. If I do need to replace it, how expensive are the parts and can I do this myself? I really don't trust dealerships. Thanks in advance for any replies.

If you have a head gasket going, you might see bubbles in the coolant while running or like you already mentioned check your oil for a white milky mixture.

+4.....sounds like condensation.

if you had a head gasket problem, there is multiple ways to check it. your exhaust would have a super "sweet" smell. to learn the smell, burn some (coolant) in a can with a torch, it's a real distinctive smell. also, if the head gasket was "bad", you MOST LIKELY would consistently overheat. a for sure test is to talk to a local mechanic that has "block test fluid" and have your cooling system sampled for exhaust gases

Sounds like normal condensation. But if you perform a leak-down test, you should be able to rule out leaking coolant.

+1. Take the radiator cap off and put the air to each cylinder, if the head gasket is leaking, it'll bubble. Otherwise, make sure your not running a slightly lean mixture on that turbo, lean = hot, which can also soon = burned pistons.

Condensation.......
If it were coolant, it would be blowing white, sweet smoke. You would know it, no doubt.

I messed around with it again today, and again for the first few minutes of running, water droplets were coming out of the exhaust. I left my hand a few inches from the exhaust long enough to catch a lot of it, and it is straight water, no coolant in it, whew. I let it idle at about 1400 rpm for about 20 minutes or so, water temp never got above 150 degrees and the oil pressure never got below 40 psi. One thing I noticed was a small hairline crack in the radiator, ever so slowly oozing a drop or two per minute. Would there be an issue adding some sort of radiator sealant? Or would it gum everything up? I've had good luck with Alumaseal in the past.

I would take the rad. out and have it repaired no stop leak for me. But a headgasket can build the presure to high and blow out a rad. so keep watching it.

You could do a compression test, and a radiator pressure test to rule out any gasket issues. But the perfect reaction to the combustion of gasoline & air will produce a little bit of water naturally, fyi. :)

Dont know if anyone told you this or not, but it could be condensation:whistle::laugh:

yeah, repair or replace that rad. IMPO, i never use stop leak of any nature on anything, not a car, quad, bike, nothing. if you're in a pinch and it's 100% necessary, you gotta do what you gotta do, but other than that, never.

Mine too,i have the same scenario.1 of my friend got the water onto his face from my high mount exhaust while he was repairing his friend's bike.He quickly stood up and asked why are there water coming out from my exhaust.:rofl:Now i know the reason why,i will tell him the next time i see him.CONDENSATION:laugh:
