Water proof boots..

(Shibumi @ Jul. 25 2007,16:34) Great looking boots! Look kinda like what Pashnit wears.
Yep, those are same as I have. I bought my first pair probably 10 years ago! Same exact pair. Wore those out- actually wore the sole all the way through to where water was coming in through the bottom!

I fianlly bought my 2nd new pair last summer- not cheap at $260. That you can buy the same exact boots a decade later tells me Sidi definitely has a good product. To test the waterproofness, riders have stood in water a foot deep. Just stood there. Passed the test.

Only time they weren't waterproof for me is I was doing this stream crossing and almost lost my balance on the moss, instinctively slapped a boot down and the water was deeper than the boot is tall and water came in over the top. Made it across & kept the bike upright.

(Over_Easy @ Jul. 25 2007,15:35) Anyone try the SIDI Strada Evo Tapor Waterproof boots? Do they hold up?
I think that is what I have... I know they are waterproof and extremely comfortable... Actually they are Sidi vertigo tepor from Street and track.

One other comment about the Sidi Sympatex On-Road boots is they were really stiff when I got them. Got some decent blister on back of heel my first ride out. Took about 2 rides, or about 2000 miles of riding, to really break them in. Nice thing with an all leather boot is once you wear them a bit, they become like tennis shoes

as they mold around your foot.

The On-Road's also have a lip-style sole (vs. smooth rounded), so I added AlpineStars moto-cross style metal toe caps to the front of mine. I did that after I hit a rock in mid-corner/full lean with the toe of my boot. Darn near thought I busted my toe off. Oh, and it looks badass.

2 RIDES = 2,000 MILES ?

It took me a year to get 6500 !!!!! And I thought I was a "RIDER" ? guess NOT !!!

Sonny, for casual riding I've read more than enough stories online about how uncomfortable M.C. boots can be, and don't see myself buying a pair in the future. I use a pair of waterproof socks called seal skins paired up with my comfy 8" high  chippewah boots. This combo handle the elements just fine when riding in the rain and cold weather.

The boots you just purchased look great and  I hope they perform up to your satisfaction.  If you find them not to be as comfy when walking around try a pair of the seal skinz with your favorite non M.C. boot that atleast provides protection for your ankles.
Seal Skin sock info.

Alpinestars SMX-GORETEX. Love them. Best boot I've ever had 100 % waterproof. I've worn these everywhere, every riding day for 2+ years. 120 degree days, pouring rain, hurricanes-90+ gusts raining so hard you couldn't see 100 ft. in front of you from Virgina to DC. Got in the room and my feet were bone dry. That sold me. 1st anything I've own made out of Goretex that worked.

Yep, got 'em. the Sidi Strada Tepors are great! So far, so good in first full season with em. The Italians make the best boot boots/shoes imho.
