Well- I'm in China this week...

Why am I here?  Well - I've been working the software industry forever.  In my search for bigger and better things, I decided to create a company that would be a world class startup... Madera West, Inc.  I came across these trees and they're amazing.  They produce super light, straight, lumber and so for a product, we decided on is window coverings. This superlightweigt lumber makes great wood components for interior plantation shutters.  These past 3 years - I have been shoestring this company with everything I have to get this company off the ground and producing product to sell to the various shutter fabrication companies in the US and Europe.  After 5 trips to China - I think we've got it.

I have a couple of great people on my team and now we're looking for a go-getter sales guy/girl to hit the streets with us.  We're ready to take the product to the custom shutter manufacturers and off we go.

So yeah - cool job - but better yet - I own the company and we're just about to launch full tilt.  (January 2007 is the date for lift off!  Woo hoo!)

So wish me luck and someone - send me a go-getter salesperson so I don't have to do a bunch of interviewing!  ;-)

(shawn @ Nov. 17 2006,12:37) ...These guys don't see too many visitors from other countries in this part of the land...
Nice photos.

When I was in Africa several weeks ago, we met people that asked us where we were from. One of the guys told them he is from Indiana, the African asked "Where's that?" Our guy said "In the United States." The African asked "Where's that?" These are people in a village with no electricity, now running water, not even out houses. They still get their water from a water hole or well, and use the woods for an out house.

Many here in the U.S. think that we are the center of the world and everybody wants to be just like us. Little do we really understand.
And ya know - unless you go out of the country like you did - how could you know the difference? amazing...

I'm going to have my family come over here and stay for a few months in the summer. Whatta ya think? ;-)

I know my family would love it, would you like to adopt us?

If your not married already.... the Chineese women treat their husbands very well. You are truely king of the castle. Not to offend any women here (sorry if I did) but they just show respect much better than most countrys anywhere. Have a GREAT experience over there, Heck you may not want to come back to all the fuss of the States.
