We have a great Victorian home, the only problem is I have no garage. n/p because just two short blocks away I rent one along with about six other folks. last Tuesdays evening forecast was for rain. So I took my baby to the garage instead of parking her behind the house. As I pulled in I see some guy working in one of the other garages. This is not unusual the only rules to working on your whip is don't block someone else's garage & no welding.
To make a long story short. My phone rings 3:30a Wednesday. Its the owner of the garages telling me there's a fire and I might want to get down there.
Well I dive into some pants & sprint the two blks. Fire fighters would only let you get but so close. All the garages were fully involved. By 5:30 they have it out. Apparently the A-hole I saw working was welding and something caught . He didn't try to put it out he just called the fire dept from the pay phone up the street. By the time they got there it was roaring.I later learn this moron had only been renting his space for 2 weeks.
The roof collapsed but I could see the charred remains of my baby still on her stands all the plastic, seat , even the tires gone. Not going to explain how I felt I think you all can guess. Of course I was in a bit of shock until I realized
the guy right next to me lost a 75k Porsche in the blaze.
Insurance looks like its going to cover what I owed but I'm back to square one. Think I'll probably opt for a 06 or 07 some pretty good pricing out there. I keep telling myself it's just a bike...Maybe I'll believe it soon.
I'll be contacting Daniel and a few of the other board sponsors. Going to rebuild better I hope. @ least I'm not trying to replace a Slant nose Turbo
