Hi all. Omar just dropped me off from the hospital. I have a severe broken Coller bone and some cracked ribs. Other than that , I came our pretty well. I can't stress enough to wear your gear. Without a good helmet, I don't think I would be around to post this. The Joe Rocket mesh jacket did it's job and I don't think it would have been damaged if it had not been for the big stop sign i sheared off with my shoulder. The Setup boots worked great and I have no issues with my feet at all. I had on Draggen jeans and except for a skinned up place on my knee, no damage or skin loss. The Joe Rocket gloves did a great job with no injury on my hands or wrist. Please please please all, wear your gear EVERYTIME you get on the bike. Now that I have the product evaluation out of the way, I'm going to attempt to put into words what you people mean to me, but somehow words just don't seem like enough. What we have here at Hayabusa.org goes way beyond a web site to talk about bikes and other subjects. We truly care about one another. Ifeel so fortunate and thankful that you accepted this ol man into your brotherhood, that i don't think I can find the words to express how proud I am to be a member of Hayabusa.org. I have been blessed to be a part of this. I,m waiting in the emergency room at the hospital waiting to be treated, and I'm getting calls from Shawn (MCMUSTANG, and Don (USN05LE), concerned about my welfare. You guys will never know how much that ment to me, thank you, your the BEST! As my bike was on the pavement, all I could think about was getting it out of the road to a safe place, and try to figure out a way to get it home, some 35 miles away. The bike would not start and although I now know I was in no shape to ride it if I could get it started, I called Omar to see if he knew how to reset the tipover so I could get it started. OMSLAW said where are you at, I'm on my way! Now mind you his work is at least 60 miles from where I went down. He next tells me he is calling a friend of his that lives closer to where I am, and she will stay with me untill he gets there. That made me feel so much better I can't describe how much it helped. Omar showes up with the truck, gets my bike loaded in his truck, takes me and the busa home with his friends following, unloaded the busa from the truck and put it in the garage! I can only hope each and every one of you have a friend in your life that would do that. He then insists on taking me to the hospital, and waiting for me to be treated. Omar, I hope this doesn't sound corney, but I love you like a son, and I value our friendship more than you will ever know! I'm hurtin and the busa is hurtin, so I'm going to go lay down and think about how blessed I am to be one of you!

I don'y have any parts but I live near Hal and I would be more than happy to help put his bike back together....

After a quick walk-thru this is what I saw:

Here's a list of the damage:

Front cowl
Gauge cluster
Front subframe/cowl support
Windscreen
Right Throttlemeister scratched
Both uppers around gauges
Headlight assembly
Right side fairing
Right Tsukigi bolt-on & clamp
Front fender scratched
Helmet
JR mesh jacket
Draggin' Jeans probably scuffed
Gloves unknown
Both mirrors scuffed
Right-rear turn signal scratched

Right now the bike won't start, fuel pump won't even kick in. Possibly cuz the gauges are gone? Forks look straight, front and rear wheels appear to rotate straight and don't bind up - nothing appears bent. Handlebars appear OK.

There's NO damage to the left side at all - all of it was contained to the front and the right side.

As we find out more, we'll let y'all know!

Helmet took a hard hit, but my neck and head feel ok. Know I'm going to be sore tomorrow though as i'm pretty sore right now. If I would have been at Miller with you guys would not have happened.

Thanks for the well wishes.

Dad
I am glad to hear you are doing good. I will let you rest tonight and call you tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone who helped out especially, Omar. It was tough to get a call this morning from Chris telling me that dad went down, and not be able to do anything to help him. But knowing he had friends and help on the way made it a lot easier. Thanks again.
You guys rule.
