What they aren't showing you in that diagram is the circuit board inside the control unit. It isn't an empty box holding the switches it has some logic, hence the name.

I may try this instead and do away with the on/off switch since I never turn my unit off.

Same thing as above but somewhat organized with the wire color changed to match the harness wires instead of the wires from the switch.
Set/resume with on/off. 7 wires ran to/from switches.

Set/resume without an on/off switch, it's always on. Only 4 wires ran to/from switch.

The original switch is removed from the bike and replaced with 1-2 switches and a relay depending on how you want to wire it.you rock!
The relay does away with the logic board? I have not looked at this yet so thanks for the head start

I wired mine up this way and tested it today. It works like it did when I had the Rosta switch installed. It is now on permanently but I never turned it off anyway.

For anyone that missed it the switch that I based my wiring on is a NORMALLY CLOSED (NC) switch. If the switch you are using now is a normally open switch you will need to change your #12 dip switch to ON. This is for the Rostra electronic Global cruise part # 250-1223.
