What they aren't showing you in that diagram is the circuit board inside the control unit. It isn't an empty box holding the switches it has some logic, hence the name.
I wired mine up this way and tested it today. It works like it did when I had the Rosta switch installed. It is now on permanently but I never turned it off anyway.
For anyone that missed it the switch that I based my wiring on is a NORMALLY CLOSED (NC) switch. If the switch you are using now is a normally open switch you will need to change your #12 dip switch to ON. This is for the Rostra electronic Global cruise part # 250-1223.
