What do they teach in MSF?

I took the MSF expeienced course about 7 years ago when I was 24. Everyone else was twice my age. Two guys dumped their bikes. Lots of Hard braking, last second avoidance, emergency stop leaned over in a turn, tight 180 turns, and about 4 hours of classroom with a big test. If you can't avoid a crash, don't lay the bike down, use the brakes. Better to crash at 10mph then you and the bike tumbling at 50mph into the same object.

Willem, let me know when you want to take it and the dates. I need to take the course too. Would love to have a friend with me.

I took the Advanced Riders Course - Sportbike Techniques (ARC-ST) last week and learned quite a bit. Plan on taking the Experienced Riders Course (ERC) just for grins sometime in the near future.

I just took that same course in Alpharetta, GA couple months ago. Most of what I took away from the 8 hour class was Braking more confidently. Of course we weren't going faster than 30MPH, but it was worth the $100.

I recommend each of you take it or another MSF class at least once. I'm working on Track Day Instruction next.

MSF course is different from state to state.

Here what they teach is nothing  If you can make 4 right turns an 4 lefts an not drop it or kill your self you good to go.
