What do u guys think of these body armor jackets?

2 friends of mine ride with those and for safety wise they are a P.O.S. very thin and flimsy wouldnt recommend one

I wouldnt buy that one because its probably a fake (due to the fact its coming out of China and its so cheap). I do own an Alpinestars Bionic 2 jacket and it works, it saved my arse in a getoff. The ones like mine go for ~$200.00

Thanks bros. Won't buy it, but I figure its better than riding with a t shirt locally. Wish someone woulr make a cool star wars type jacket and pants!

I agree with everyone else for pavement, don't think it would hold up at all...but I wouldn't mind getting one for the dirt to help keep roost off my chest~!~

I actually tried on of these on over the weekend at Cyclegear. It seems ok but they said it is marketed more for the off road excursions and not street riders.

Made in China. Probably a fake and it will take forever to get here. I just bought a Icon armored vest to use on very hot days here in Houston. It appears sturdy. When it is under 95, I wear a leather perforated jacket. My real friends won't let me ride with them without protection.

It's most deffinately better than no gear at all.
It's probably not very strong, but consider all the damage to it in a crash...those gouges and scrapes in the plastic are skin that's still on your bones.
Would I recommend it? No, I'de buy something stronger like at least a mesh jacket.
Would I wear it as opposed to no gear, and for $24? Most deffinately!

That looks like its designed for BMX bike only. I don't even think it would hold up for a dirt bike.

It's hard to destroy plastic without pavement. After years of dirtbikes and 250B motocross... and my share of crashes(for test purposes only:laugh:) I only really damaged one chest protector. The waist straps got ripped off on impact, but it definately did it's job. I was much less injured!
