What Fuel to use?

One tank never seemed to work. When I was testing it for my ride, I had to run two tanks of whatever gas in order to finally see the results.

Lol to that one.

I say if you dont know what kind of fuel to run in your bike you shouldnt be riding. Does your manual say premium or regular? Do you think the manufacturers of your bike had some doubt on the fuel rating when they designed and built your bike? Use regular unleaded unless you bump the compression up in your engine with piston/head mods.:rulez:

Premium will do nothing for a regular unleaded tune/compression ratio. YOURE WAISTING YOUR DOLLAS!

Ok A** I was asking a question and was curious, I know it says to use regular 87 i didnt know if using 91 was worth it or not. and it look like a few people on here use a little higher then 87 so I guess your saying half the ORG shouldn't be riding? Dont read the thread and post if your going to be a smart A$$ and waste a space where someone else can give input. It was just a question.

I thought for the Gen 1 bikes the manual said use premium in USA and regular in Canada. I know our octane ratings are different and my bike ran like poop at the track with 87 octane from the states. I was just over a 1/2 sec slower with it.

:hbd:you win for being the first person this week to ask the gasoline question :woot:

double wammie if you ask "what brand is the best"

but to answer your question, you'll only be happy with whatever fuel octane rating you choose to run. It's the best for you.

 Im just tryin to keep it consistant!!!!

I get 20% better mileage with 87 than with 91.

I can't imagine using 91.

I run Shell, Amoco, or BP 93 octane premium only. This is also the only gas I run in my car and truck as well. I've done mileage tests in both my car and truck and when figured at cost per mile I actually save money buying premium as I get better mileage with it. Combine that with cleaner injectors and no plugged fuel filters and it is even better. Both my car and truck run smooth and I can tell the power difference between the different grades of gas.

If you read the manual I believe you will find it says 87 or higher. Do your own tests and see what runs best for you. As for me, I'll spend the extra 50 cents a tank to make sure I am running the best I can put in it.

+1 run at least shell gas keeps engine clean if not sure

Use VP racing U4.2

Cost almost 8 times the amount of regular pump gas. then leave it in your tank and watch it corrode the fuel lines, injectors, and gum up your valves. :welcome: Forget about mapping it too. No need to optimize it for race gas. Just fill and go....

j/k dude! I hope u don't think I'm being a d1ck. 87 for genI and 91 for genII.

87 here, I was using 91 until I read that it does not burn as quickly and excess can build up. and havent noticed any difference and its cheaper.
