Call me a newbie or whatever, but from what I've read so far I think it sounds like you banned this man totally for the wrong reasons. Yes, it is a board that you started, however you also knew that when you started this board that there would be risk involved such as people expressing their opinions, people cursing, or even people posting porn. I welcome all members, and I never edit or delete threads. Don't get me wrong, many have upset me in the past and I was tempted, but I'm a big enough man to understand that they have a right to their views, and a right to express them. I welcome that, and I welcome people's different opinions. If everyone was the same, this world would be a sad place to live in.
If running this board is just a way for you to feel like a dictator or more powerful, then you started it for the wrong reasons. I started my boards cause I wanted to meet people who had the same interest that I did, and at the same time welcome the diffences that they had from me. Everyone is different, you just have to accept that.
If you read my earlier post, I also didn't think that Mikey should have been banned (I think he is back anyway). However, I do not agree with what you are saying, and as a newbie, you have a lot of nerve saying it.
Doug started this board cause he felt like it, and he did it for his own reasons. While you are free to run your board the way you want to, Doug doesn't have to play by your rules. He has the right to establish whatever etticut he wants, and he has done just that. The board has a personality, and it is an extension and representation of the Captain. He owes it to himself to keep it that way.
The vast majority of peope who post here support the rules and tone that Captain has established. That is why we post here instead of the other
choices that we could make. My opinion about Mikey differs from yours only because I didn't think Mikey had really violated any rules, or the spirit of any rules. I think it was an emotional subject for some, and Mikey may have gotten a raw deal. But I would hazard to guess that you are not going to get much support for your point of view from people here. Of course that is why there are other boards out there to chose from, including yours.
We all
LIKE the way this board is run. And, we respect the Captain's right to ultimately decide how it is run. I gave my opinion about the Mikey situation and hope that Doug respects me enough to listen to it. But when you write:

First, Captain doesn't run this board like dictator. In fact, we police ourselves more than anything. Have you been on here long enough to get a sense of this? If so, you would realize that this entire discussion is rare.
Secondly, who the hell are you (or me) to tell Doug what his reasons for starting this board should be? That is none of our business. I am just tagging along for the ride.
Third, I personally don't give a sh^t why you started your board. Go back to it if you like it better.
Forth, this is not a democracy, and the captain doesn't
have to accept anything.
I don't mean any disrespect, but you are way off base here. Perhaps you need to stick around and get a flavor for how things go here.
