I run RP 10w40 in mine, no problems. I feel like the top end is just a bit quieter with RP as opposed to others i've used, maybe its just me. :laugh:

Don't get confuse with the first number 5w,10w W being winter. Pay attention on the last number. 10w would be more ideal on start-ups coz you need to get the oil to the top part of the engine as soon as possible. But you know what this is an oil thread, damn! I got sucked in again. Wooooosahhhhhh.............:rofl:

Know anybody that rides 4 stroke dirt bikes? They'll take that 20-50 off your hands I bet.:thumbsup:

Nawww, stuffs to thick. I got a 686 Raptor thats pretty insane, and I run the yamy 15w-40 semi. love it. that was of course until i blew my tranny on a power shift from 1st to 2nd at almost 11G......oops! did make a pretty cool noise tho:laugh:

RP is a good oil only thing I did not care for was the fact that it was purple nd it was harder to tell when the oil started getting to dirty. So I switched over to AMSOIL and would not switch

Not a lot of real answers so far.
The manual says the standard is 10W40.
It also says that in the temp range of 14 degrees F to any above temp, that 20W50 is OK.
As long as you are not starting your bike when the outside temp is below14 degrees F, it will be fine according to the Suzuki Manual.

:welcome::welcome:

:king: Use mineral 20W50 and add STP in it. STP protects the engine by creating a thin film which resists friction by providing a thicker cushion between moving engine parts. I ve been using STP for 20 years now. No problems at all.
Synthetic oil is ok but it becomes thin at no time.
