Here's a snip-it of a posting from the
CBR list I saw today from a Honda owner:

[begin quote]
"I spent Friday night hangin' out at the 1/4 mile strip in Cecil County, MD. (I didn't race; just watched.) Overall, it was a good time, and I thought I'd share a bit about the experience with y'all:
There were perhaps forty bikes there, half of them watching, and half racing. A buddy of mine has a slightly-modded RR that runs right around 10.50. The 600's mostly run in the 11.30 - 12.00 range. There were also some Harleys, and some vintage Jap bikes - old Suzukis and Kaw's with wheelie
bars and stuff. The most impressive was a (stock) Hayabusa - consistently
9.8's and 9.9's. There were a couple of faster bikes, but they all had
wheelie bars, and are quite unrideable on the street. It looks like fun,
costs only $10, and is certainly safer than street racing. [end quote]
