Always thought about this in the back of my mind. With the recent post about the guy left for dead after being run over by a van, what would you do??

I chose "Chase perp & follow until cops arrest perp" because I'm no medic(I can't do anything for my riding buddy) and there are always other people on the road(here in LA), so he'll get help as quick as they can respond. I definately don't want the jerk who ran him over to get away, its soo wrong for people to run from accidents where someone is injured!!

I've done a lot of thinking about this subject over the last 6 days, there is no doubt what I would do. All that mattered to me last wednesday was that Steve would live, even today, 6 days later I feel the same way. I would love to see that the perps get caught, tried and punished, but I would rather be there for my friend. If I were the rider down, I would hope that my friends would care more about me than their perception of justice.

I believe that God allows things to occur in our lives for reasons we don't understand. In this case, God allowed Steve to be hit, dragged and left, for what reason, I don't know. I have a few guesses but they are just guesses.

My thoughts exactly. If it going to be my friends last few minutes of life, I want them spent with someone who knows and cares about them and not some stranger that was kind enough to stop and render aid. People fail to realize that even though they may appear stable, things can and do go very wrong after a severe crash and life threatening injuries aren't always immediately evident after an accident.

Obviously, help for my buddy would be the first and primary concern. After that was assured, I would go huntin' the mofo down that did it. At least lookin' for a license plate to give to cops for their report and follow-up. However, I would not leave my buddy until I was sure they were well taken care of.

Absolutely, after checking on my buddy and depending on his condition - I'd be smokin the rear in a heated manhunt.

Usually if I am out with a friend I am out with a few others... So my Mission in life would be to track and target the Fugger that hit em' If they didn't stop at the scene. They're void... If they stop, Fair is fair, means that they at least realize they have done damage and are trying to do the right thing. If they leave, the way I see it, they are no longer Human, it's more like busting out the Bug Spray... Fair and Legal in all 50...

If I was the one nailed and I'm down. I would want Joker, Raider, Cecil or whomever to fuggin ID them for me at least. Besides, I am not after Mouth to mouth and accept for basic Buddy care and first Aid, there really isn't anything else they can do but dial 911...

As much as I'd like to help catch the perp, I would never forgive myself if a fellow rider spent his/her last breaths alone on the pavement...I'd definitely stay until help came, and just hope for the best as far as justice being served...

I have to agree with rev. Just find them and leave me a cell phone and ill call my own help. Im more of a person set on revenge though.

Oh boy!

If that every happened...I would make sure my buddy was taken care of, someone on the scene or something to take care of him. If it is a choice between helping my friend live and punishing the badguys, I'll help my friend to live.

But... if I see he's alright, or there is someone else on the scene (another riding buddy).. oh god is it on! I would follow them and if I ever caught up to them I would beat them within an inch of their life. Then I would do something memorable...Maybe cut off a couple of fingers so every day for the rest of their life they will remember what they did. Then I would call the cops, give them their plate number and take off. Then, whether or not they get convicted, both me and my buddy will know justice was served when we see that guy with only 2 fingers his hand.........and ya know what, I got a couple of buddies who would do the exact same thing as me. I know it for a fact.

Ok, back to happy thoughts.

Then you would go to jail and pay him out the yang. Hell he'll probably buy a whole new hand. If seen stories of guys going to rob places and getting jacked up, than they some the establishment and win. BS huh.

Of course pending my buddies response after the accident. I'd feel pretty stupid to go chasen and return to find my buddy has passed. I agree with Kevin that Our lives have devine occurrances everyday. There are no coincedences or accidents.

However, if there are several of us and one can break from the pack to retrieve a plate # I'm all for it, but only if it's 2 of them. Some cagers are high on something or just mean as sin so they'd have no prob slamming on their brakes as you crash into their bumper and fleeing the scene. Makes you really think though.

Pretty simple for me...Stay with buddy regardless of number of riders...There's absolutely no way that I would be able to continue if it were a serious accident... evil.gif
