Does it matter. Have a lot going on and was changing front tire today and put the tire on backwards. Could I have just swapped the spacer to the other side and put it back together with the tire direction correct ? I made it right but was just curious. I know it would mess with the look of the wheel spoke, but would it cause problems ?

I believe that tires are directional and so for reason, not sure about the wheel and it's set up. Good question.

um.... I think note I say "I think" it's due to the direction and pattern of the treads. If its backwards and it were to rain, instead of the tread pattern flushing the water away or outwards from the tire, it would take it in?
My thought

i think also with tire its the direction the cords are wound in carcass, not sure about actual wheel though

tyres direction means it will perform correctly due to belt design and construction

you have a arrow on the wheel (on spoke) and the tyre has a arrow plus a small (yellow circle or little arrow) for valve alignment.

tyres are also made in pairs so they work in unison and why mixing brands can be interesting on the handling side.

But other than looks, semetery does it matter ? Wheel only guys, everyone should know that the tire rotation is indicated with an arrow and is critical.

yes i only posted that as people often dont know about tyres and markings.

as your fitting them yourself im sure you new all of the above:thumbsup:

the other thing is if you fit the wheel the other way the discs will be on the wrong callipers so pads wont be bedded in ! and a bit like fitting second hand pads.

have any of you tried these Buy Dyna Beads Dynamic Tyre Balancers now! ive used them on several bikes and its a perfect balance for the life of the tyre.

plus no weights and you can re-use too:thumbsup:

Several posters talked about the rotation arrow on the tire and I wanted to make sure we stayed on the original question. My comment wasn't aimed at anyone and thanks for posting up.
