Wheelie question

This is my OLD Busa wheelie video from 2010.
My friend on the '06 Gsxr1k, his wife decided to video and upload it to youtube(and pick the music, not my choice, my apologies, lol)
We were trying to match speed wheelieing, and the 4 of us just playing around in the spot(half mile straight stretch at a dead end).
No, there's nothing impressive in this video, but back then there really weren't any Busa wheelies on youtube, other than power wheelies, and alot of people, including members here at the time, didn't belive that the Busa would wheelie just the same as most sportbikes, or most any motorcycle...if not easier.
So, I posted this here then.
I was suprised after searching that this still shows up.
That is me on my 2008 Busa.
15 years ago...wow...and still a hoon!

Standing on the seat? Crazy.......

Looks like a lot of fun had by all.........

That was a regular thing back then for years.
We'd ride the twisties for a few hours then end up there.
The seat stander is easy, especially at low speeds, around 75 mph was the fastest I managed with those, and it took a bit of forward lean.
The one in the video started out at probably 40mph, and how fast it decelerates depends on the gear, neutral, and the road surface.
Also why I like top-mount steering dampners, as when trying to do this slowly for long distance, the bars start flopping left to right.

That's something I've never attempted even on a dirt bike or 4 wheeler.....

Never was a pro. Never was comfy. In fact I kinda sucked. But I still enjoyed them. Dirt bikes yeah. Street bike thru a gear or two but never really got the balance down. Terrified me.

I'm amazed at what I see KIDS do on bikes of all kinds nowadays.

Especially XCross.........those guys are nuts.....

Last summer I watched a few younger kids on BMX bikes in the skate board park......crazy skills............

Dude sketching on the 1K was sick to see. You don't see anyone doing that anymore.

lol, I know....but I still do.
It's so easy to do I wouldn't even call it a real stunt, but alot of people who've never seen it still can't belive it.
The 'jedi' version is better though, ski off one side, kick your feet up and handstand over the bars and land on the other side, still skitchin.
You're feet don't need to actually touch the road either, so you can lay accross the tank and put your feet on the side of a tractor trailer, then 'run' along the side as you pass it.
Stupid fun from the old days :beerchug:

I'll admit it. I liked the movie Biker Boyz and now I'm going to watch it again tonight because of your video. lol

I'll probably wake up in a farmer's field looking for pieces of my bike because of you........and my attempt to stand on my seat.....

Riding along normally jump up and have both feet land on the seat, while still holding the handlebars.
Once you're steady and coasting at a good speed, 30-40mph (I'de recommend 3rd or 4th gear to learn in), then let go of the bars and place both hands on the back of the gas tank, side by side behind the gas cap.
Then slowly remove your hands from the tank.
At this point you're coasting along basically squatted down on the seat, now Slowly start to stand up.
The road surface, wind, how fast you're decelarating, and how confident you are all determine how much effort it takes.
After, just squat back down quickly, or just drop back down on to the pegs.

As for Skitching, it's usually easier to learn if you get off on the foot shifter side first.
Just swing your right leg over the bike like you are getting off the bike, and let your right foot touch the road.
Then Slowly take the weight off of your left foot and take it off of the footpeg.
Now the right side of your rib cage should be leaning against the gas tank, and both feet should be in the air or on the road.
You will then realize that you can hang on the side of the bike with your feet in the air, or with your feet fully on the road...and your boots smoking, lol
There is So Much control in this position.
You can start and stop, and I have been around 130-140mph doing this.
Things start to get a little skiddish at 110-120mph, but is otherwise smooth up until around those speeds, road dependant.
