When is it too cold to ride?

Above what temperature will you do a 100 mile recreational ride?

I refuse to ride below 20. It's just not enjoyable and you're constatnly fighting the cold. You have to keep every inch of skin completely covered or you can get frost bite pretty quick when you add in the wind chill.

I have turned into a total wuss. I used to ride when it was 20 degrees out. Would stop every 10-15 minutes to defrost my fingers and keep moving.

Now, even 70 is a bit too chilly. I guess going from the bike being the only means of transport to having several cars at my disposal make a bit of a difference.

I originally voted above 50 but it was ~25 here this morning. I brushed the ice off the seat, started it up, and rode to class lol.

I put 45...I'll ride colder but for a recreational 100 mile ride there is just a point where it takes all the enjoyment out of it and you have to ask yourself "why"

I went with 20, even though I have ridden colder temps than that. I did a 600 mile day on New Years and the temps ranged from the teens to thirties. If you have the right gear it's no problem.

Ride all Year here in Minnesota - Well at least when the Roads are Clear. Anything below 0F gets pretty frigid, but have done a few trips around those temps......Keeping the hands warm makes a huge difference.

roads here are just too nasty to even consider taking a bike on imo, some may disagree so it will have to be 40's for me before we get snow here, then its late spring...

When it is above 50 I will ride to and from work (only stay about 7 miles roundtrip) but 100 miles I won't make it.

I went with above 60! I rode one weekend with Roc and few others from NC (28 degrees)! I cussed the whole ride until the sun came up around 50 degrees! It was better after that but winter gear is a must!!!!
