I wear a textile jacket in the summer.

80* can be pretty brutal...

Nylon makes for a better winter jacket, and you have more options than leather.

One of the most effective combos I've used is jacket (any type) under rain gear - even if no rain - cuz the (nylon) rain cover reduces windchill factor

lol, yep, I tried that years ago too, and it works/keeps the cool wind from blowing through more breathable material.

I knew a guy that bought rubber gloves that you use for dishes to put over his leather riding gloves when it was raining out....he said they were awesome and had great grip....

The last big rain storm I got caught in I didn't have time to get my rain suit on...it took a while but the cold rain water eventually made it's way to my nether regions..........as "George Costanza" said....."I was in the pool, it's shrinkage"

All my joe rocket jackets did when they hit about 15-20 years old. Leather still good, pads just crumbled.
