WHICH AFTERMARKET EXHAUST SHOULD I BUY???

TI FORCE will be fitted on My Busa(1360) tomorrow.

Stay tuned if you want to see what a great pipe like that does on a motor like Mine!

I "hear" that Muzzy's fall apart after a year. Don't know this as fact though. The guy was trying to sell me a Micron. Can anybody confirm this?

I have chosen the Wyvern. Biggest problem so far.....I havent found a way to get it. Hand made ti pipe with carbon fibre mufflers. Its a 4-2-1-2 just like the stock pipe, but weighs only 11 pounds. Think Im close to a possible source. Ill post pics if Im successful.

I have the micron--its well made, put together with allen screws so you can easily take it apart if ever needs repacking-- I paid 580.00 the only thing is it does require draining oil and radator and removal of them to get the micron in there--NO SHORTCUTS--you may even have to shim the oil coolerback so it wont be touching the pipes (use 2 washers on each mounting bracket of the oil cooler) and while your in there pull off the pair system!!!!

I emailed two brothers, and the emailed me back regarding the best pipe for the Busa. They said

"The Stainless Steel, 4-2-1 system for the Hayabusa works really awesome, we dynoed one last week here, 170.8 HP up from 157.5 stock."

Hope it helps! the sound is also very very amazing

I'm tired of shining the light and those refusing to see it. So one last time: MUZZY

The way I see it, don't put on a pipe unless you are going to lose maximum weight. Akro is good, but why go stainless when you can go all ti? My vote is with Muzzy unless someone knows of another ti pipe that isn't full race.

Lyle: that's a funny comment, this is a dealer that is trying to sell you Micron over Muzzy?? Micron was known for falling apart years ago, they have come ALONG way... but I think Muzzy has it more together..

Sounds like OMEGA has done alot of R&D, you better listen to him before he has an anurism (sp?) ..

Obviously you use ELITE differently than me...Muzzy still got kaw road race team?...thats real elite...he would rather buy horses than race bikes.....thats why he got a handout with the drag race team....there`s real competition from the other manufactors there...maybe he can win some races again...and believe what you hear its always true.

Speedster. See my comments on backfiring on the PAIR thread. If you make changes step by step I believe you can understand better than anyone what causes/fixes backfiring. I/we would be in your debt. Knowledge is power.

My main goal to get a pipe would to drop weight vs. power increase, per se. I haven't felt lacking in power, just 'flickability'. I can't believe I said that: The Busa has enough power for me. On the other hand, gearing it down... I guess that would add a little snap... hmmm...

Have patience. I believe your problem will go away with all the good advice on this board.

OMEGA
Thanks for the input. I know about BLAZE cycle, have been there before with my ZX-9.
When I get back to Miami I will have him dyno the bike and go from there. Good luck with your bike. Hope to hook up for a ride with you in the near future.

Unless somebody can provide me with a workable solution to my backfiring problem without modifying the dam thing totally , I am of the opinion that all pipes are overrated and useless in terms of any power gains. I fitted Acropovic titanium full system. In fact , the way the thing behaves now , I only get 192,5 mph indicated top , as opposed to 202 mph with standard pipes ( indicated). I think it is a heap of crap !!

The Yosh pipe on the #70 bike of Rad Greaves is the very first production RS3 ti system made in 1999, so as to say they do run what they sell is a truth on the Busa.

I have a 4-2-1 full ti system with a carbon can that I would like to see on a stock Busa.
It is a Japanese pipe from K-Factory. The pipe is brand new only used to display at Daytona.

Beautiful quality and feather light.

Hey chris, "with micron you only need an allen wrench". The muzzy oval cans are constructed the same way partner, billet aluminum endcaps attached by allen bolts.
I sense this thread taking on a sour tone so I'll see ya elsewhere.

One more thing chris, did you ever notice the elite builders on here and around the country for that matter never mention micron?
Its always yosh,akro,muzzy,etc. Wonder why?

CanuckBusa way to go !! Exactly my feelings. I do not intend building another version of the busa by means of modifying the damn thing , just losing a little weight and smoothing out power to a maximum. C`mon guys , help a fellow buser here !!!

I run a Ti RS3 with stainless collectors here in England and the Bus lost 12 kilos and gained 12 bhp plus 6 ft/lbs of torque.

The Akrapovic is supposed to be better (all WSB teams except Duccati) use 'em so they must be good.

I do like the Yosh, it fits well and loos real nice and sounds great.

The back firing (which I like, sounds like an Endurance Racer) is caused by air leaking into the system where the headers and collector join. If you seal this real good and remove the "Clean Air System" the bike won't back fire.

Have a real nice day.

Z

P.S. I think the "Ti Oval" looks naff!
