Which Exhaust to buy?

Drag a busa, your bike rocks! It is obviously set up correctly, since your are running much quicker then most bikes with a lot more parts or ext swing arms and slamming em to the ground. My bike is at stock height and wheel base. I have a duplex, full box mod and a 42 tooth. I dont leave near as hard as you and my bike wheelies really bad but I have run similar 1/8 mi speeds. I usually run 119.5-121.5 but I did go 122.7 one time friday night. I shift kind of sloppy and inconsistant and I think it hurts my final trapspeed. I am going through at 10,500 and around 144mph average. I did hit 145.32 one time friday night but it was 95 degrees out. I have run 146 couple times a few months ago but....I am getting a PS 3 shifter next week, I think that will help a lot. I was having to back out of it in first gear to bring the front end down but still went 9.93@144.32 mph in the heat. I hope I can get my bike to run as strong as yours with as few parts as your bike has. You have great numbers, especially considering your no light weight at 180 plus lbs in race gear.

allen you shoulkd get a little mph with the shifter .my best last year was a 959 @147 with stock pipes and wheelbase with no lowering or strapping and 165 60 ft.so you'll be in there quick.my weight was 175 last year noe i weigh only 140 to 145 due to the work all the time diet.man i'd love to have his 60' in the 15s would be nice.i'll go oit and try my 2000 with the ti muzzy and the +4 swing arm and the airbox soon to see how it does lighter and longer.i need to try it before i install my mc express turbo kit

Thanks DP, Glad you think so! Anyway what I meant was is there are people with vast experience with REAL world testing like dynoing or track testing and those are the peoples' opinions we should follow. People like Motorhead, Frank Adams, JohnnyCheese, GSXR1360, GIXX1300, any of these guys know there $HIT. Guys that have actually had their bikes on a track, tested it, rode it themselves and modified it. Not some schmuck who buys a pipe because his buddy did and it sounds good so he buys it and now he is a FUKKING professional. A lot of these people talk big horsepower numbers yet never put the bike on a track, whats the power for? Everyone is partial to what they have but I only listen to those that actually race, not talk the talk. I thought it was funny a month back when we were at a shootout and JCHEESE was spankin bikes with "AKRO, the miracle pipe" and he has STOCK exhaust!! Its about real tuning and real testing, not just buying a cool brand of pipe because everyone else has one, that was my point of that post, so NO disrespect to ANYONE on the board, oh and Dirty Pete, you can kiss my A$$!! you TWAT!

ti- force pipe is my choice. i just ran my 2000 busa to a 9:44 @ 147.36 mph with no remap. pipe fits great and i had alot of comments on it.

Hey DragABusa, how is your bike set up? if you mind that an A$$hole asks you!

Gearing?
Length?
Height?
airbox mod?
dynoed?
60' Times?

I got the carbon fiber Sato from NLR, looks great, couple of HP but best of all is the sound---pipe is very polite if I don't whack it, but when I DO whack it, it screams.

Yengve posted on blabusas a dyno comparison between Akro, TI, and Sato, HP numbers are almost identical.

I also have the motorhead airbox and PC2, and this pipe is great with the 007HARV map created on an Akro, which tells me they're VERY similar.

Hey Motorhead, you went 9.59 @ 147, were you using the PS 3 shifter then? I think I'll get at least 1 mph in the traps with the shifter, I can get a 1.75 60' pretty easy but the thing wants to wheelie like crazy, if I put a 40 tooth back on the back it will stay down but not NEAR as fun. I am hoping to go 9.70's with it but I don't think it will get it with the 42, just too much in low gear. What sprocket were you running then?

LeeMI,

I have the full SS 4-2-1 system with the C5 oval cannister in their X-Metal material.

I installed it this weekend and it went very smooth. Everything lined up perfectly. They make a very high quality product.

I'll let you know on the performance and the sound in a few days. I ran out of time this weekend and I am waiting for some thermal pipe wrap from Lockhart-Phillips to complete the install.

The PCII was a breeze to install, took all of about 5 minutes. The Muzzy fan was also a breeze to install. Figured that if I had the radiator/oil cooler assembly already out, I may as well replace that melting fan! :(

I'll update my site with pic's and install tips soon.

No Lanta, I am still at the stock height and wheelbase. I went a 9.83 @ 145.5 a few months ago. That was with the stock sprocket and clutch and small air box mod. I havent broke back into the 9.80's since. I have done the clutch mod, full box, re dyno tuned it and went to a 42 tooth rear but it just wheelies too much in first gear! I may put the 40 tooth back on but it does leave better and easier with the 42 tooth. I think with a PS 3 shifter I'll just let'er come up a little higher and just ride it out. I'll be a lot more confident shifting in the air with the shifter. I was backing out it or shortshifting it as soon as it would come up (about 8500-9K)in first gear and still running 9.90's or 10.0's but weak trapspeed (144mph). I will try the PS 3 and the 42 tooth and play with it like that and see what I can squeeze out of it. I want to leave the 42 tooth on it because it is a BLAST on the street.
