Who Rode Today?

Well . . . . technically it's not in my possession YET.
But I've always visualized the things that I really desire . .
and they usually materialize sooner or later!
It's all down to the right price, where he's happy and I'm happy,
and of course the bank releasing the funds, but that won't be a problem.
You will sell your Gen1?
I have not driven the Gen1, but from what everyone says, the Gen2 is quite a better bike.
This one looks very beautiful and in very good condition.

Not necessarily. Having driven both a Gen1 and Gen2 there are differences (some of which favor the Gen2), but nothing wrong with a Gen1.

I'll keep my Gen 1, I've put so much time and money into it I can't imagine parting with it!
I have ridden both the Gen 1 and the Gen2, I've actually ridden many different Gen 2's because I work as a mechanic at the Suzuki Dealership here in NZ.
I like the Gen 1, it's a little lighter and turns nicely, but the brakes, suspension and power is improved in the Gen 2.
The Gen 2 has around 20rwhp increase from the Gen 1 engine. More torque also, and it's quite noticeable too.
My Gen 1 does an amazing job considering it's 20 years old.
But I have refreshed the chassis, suspension and brakes up to 'new bike' spec.
I've also replaced camshafts and cam chain.
The motor now has 120,000kms on it, but still very strong and burns no oil at all.
I want to ride it less, and have the Gen 2 as my main ride, will bring out the Gen 1 on special occasions. I want to keep it as a reminder and a tribute to the first model Busa made.
I have all the original red/black bodywork stored, the original exhaust system, so I can set it back to stock as a coillector's bike. I will never sell it, there's no need to sell it, I'll just look at it and remember the great rides! I've got many on-board gopro videos on the rides too.
I've covered 50,000kms on her, she's served me well and received a lot of love and attention in kind!

Very good choice to have both Hayabusa generations bro.
I like and appreciate the respect you have in yours Gen1. And I like when I finish with the mods in my own,
to buy a clean one Gen1. God will have us good and everything will be done.

Went for a ride, brought a camera, prepare to be bored.

I think if I did a Gen 1 with the same mods as the L2 , the Gen 1 should be the better handling bike . I would like to know one day .
Go on then Toad, you know you want to . . .
I think you are right in saying it would handle better, it will be lighter for sure, and just as rigid and strong.
I would like to stroke and bore my Gen 1 motor some day, when I'm flush with cash. If ever.
Also Ohlins suspenders with Brembo restraining system in place.
Oh, and BST C/F wheels and Titanium everything lol.

It is one of three options I am considering , even still , it will be a project streeter I want to do , just cannot say exactly when . Sounds like your Gen 1 build will be very similar to mine Kiwi , and your right , there is something pulling me to a Gen 1 build .

I don't really feel the engine heat. I think they fixed that on the newer FJR's from what I read. What gen/year did you have?
I have my side fairing adjusted out from the winter. I need to readjust them. I also have the touring windshield on when is high even when lowered.
