Who Rode Today?

I averaged 38 mpg for a 250 mile ride all around the Sierra foothills west of the Park and entered via hiway 120 and left via 180, the El Portal entrance. I managed about 50 miles in triple digits over several long deserted straights before climbing above 6,000’ in the mountains. Weather was perfect. Like trees? Hard to find shade at times but this old one was quite accommodating. Oak trees dot the foothill landscape but then up high I quickly run into evergreens galore! The river shown is right next to the road for miles. The roar at the rapids (right next to the road) :D was incredible. Can you hear it? The split rock I’m guessing, was at one point a solid mass that split in two when it fell from the mountain. The Busa is a big bike but is dwarfed by that boulder. A Peterbilt would be dwarfed by it. The huge rock overhang is at the El Portal entrance. Was it one piece too sometime in history? Great ride all around. WishUwuzhere to see it.:)

These pictures are excellent, wow is a word I'd use to describe them.

That scenery is amazing. Think of the force it took to split that rock....

Have to expand my territory or I'll have the cops here.
Sure enough expect it when you least expect it! I just cleaned my drive chain and took a quick ride to fling out the kerosene. 70 mph for a few minutes ought to do the trick. Over the hill comes a black car and I roll back a bit. Eased down to 60 mph. SHERIFF No stop. Maybe he or she was off duty. Had no helmet on either. See, I normally go the speed limit on the interstate but the one time I don't.... Glad I didn't get a ticket because that would ruin me for the real fast riding I do.

No helmet?

Rode to coffee this morning. Broke zipper on my jacket for the return trip. Guess it’s time to retire it. Got it in 04 so it’s been round the block. Way home all gauges quit working. Took out gauge pod, plugged back in and voila. All working.
