Who will be the first to stretch the 08'

ReggieBusa, we make a real nice brake caliper mount..it uses the slot to index the caliper(no torque arm needed).. The ones I have in stock are Gixxer ones and Busa ones(Gen1) so you will need a brake caliper from one of those. I have an 07 Gixxer Brake bracket made, but haven't done the 08 Busa one yet. it is similar but just a bit larger.

Cheers. I will keep that in mind. Going tommorrow to fit the swingarm at my local engineering works. Will have him look at it and see what he suggests. Will be in touch if needed-I think the Gen1 caliper and new bracket will be the easiest option. Thanks.

BOOSTED, I HAVE BEEN THINKING HARD OF THE STAGE 2 TURBO KIT. . WHAT ENGINE MODS DID YOU HAVE TO DO? KEEP US POSTED ON OTHER DETAILS. THANKS

we're finding if we do a 6" or 7" stretch and lower it more than an inch, we are seriously risking hitting the tail light with a passenger.

Any thoughts?
wait till you inadvertantly hit a pothole or speedbump....

Exactly, that's what I'm trying to avoid.  We're going to try a fully adjustable lowering link (so I can go a little lower than the first setting, but a little higher than the second setting) and stiffen up the rear suspension a little and see what that looks like.
Mines at Velocity right now. Can't go over 4 inches back with that damn tail. I'm going with adjustable links as well. I hope 4 inches is long enough with 450 hp this bike will put out. My wife said 4 inches is not going to be long enough.

what stage turbo are you getting installed?
Flash go to the turbo section of this site and look at the thread 08 stage 2 Velocity I started. I've listed everything I'm doing. Some things are a little overbuild but I build for insurance and reliability. Barry is great to work with.

I am in the process of casting a 20lb lead brick for the front, and filling the front axle with lead for keeping the front end down for reacing. Sounds like the concensus is you can only stretch about 2 or 3 inches with the bike fully slammed before you take out the tail light. Has anyone yet raced their bike yet fully lowered / stretched? Anyone make a modified stretched tail or light?

Smithers' just finished mine. We did a 6" extension and lowered the bike 1" in the rear using a fully adjustable lowering link. They also tightened up the rear spring quite a bit to help reduce sag along with a modified Tiger Tail. We lowered the front end approximately 1 1/4" with the new triple tree clamp.

I must say it looks a lot better. Unfortunately I can't get out there and ride it due to the weather.

Pics should be forthcoming soon.

Did you go wth a new swingarm or just extensions??

Yes they look very good stretched, I wanted to see how fast I could go stock wheelbase but man that looks good!

My wife just walked by the monitor...

"Wow that looks super Sexy!"

"Yeah it's an '08 with a six inch extension", I said.

"No, the Guys on the Bike", She replied.

I guess thats what you were hoping for, eh?

Tricked out Custom Cycles has an orange and black on the show floor stretched with a black single sided swingarm with a 300 rear tire..the bike looks amazing!!
