Why are attackers seen as victims?

I can never figure why one needs a permit to carry concealed and nothing to open carry. Never made sense to me. I believe they are trying to change NC, so you can carry concealed without a permit.

That said, I cycle (bicycle) out in the boonies, anywhere from 25 miles up to a 100 miles frequently and a few times dogs almost took me out. So I did get a concealed carry permit and carry a little Beretta 32 ACP in the back pocket of my cycling Jersey.

I use to carry always when I lived in South Africa, really needed to and can tell a lot of stories about that. Where I live now, I really can’t see anyone ever needing a firearm for self defense. Pit Bulls chasing a cyclist out in the country excluded.
Oddly enough over the past few months I have encountered a few South African ex-pats....one fellow does our lawn care (Weed Man) and he and I spoke a few times.

I found out he was in the SA military, he had interesting stories but not of his military service but of the rampant crime his family faced each day just going about their business....he said he'd never own a bike like mine or a truck like mine because they'd be instant targets...he drives a dilapidated old car that draws no attention to it....

Here's one....and I can dredge up many more if you are so inclined....

As someone who lives here, I am at a better position to defend this.

Nope. The two examples were from December and February and show no outcome whatsoever. Typical headline news with no follow up. I’ll agree that the law seems to favor the criminal but were the home residents actually charged and convicted? It doesn’t say.

I would have to dredge some up, as these are not national news it is harder to pinpoint the court reports...

There have been several incidents where the home owner was charged and convicted after taking out an intruder..

I and many others hope the person in the incident I posted to you is found innocent as it would set at least a precedent...

This sort of thing is rare in Canada because we have no castle law or protection for the home owner and everyone knows it and avoids gun play.

In the modern world today, looks like those who rob stores, attack civilian home owners, have intentions to murder innocent people, and commit crimes are favored. The attacker or criminal becomes the poor victim.

Perhaps we should just change our society to one where those who contribute with blood sweat and tears of hard work, give everything they have to those who don’t?

That is pretty much our open border policy today, don’t you think?

Crazy.
Equating immigrants with criminals and lazy people is a stretch. Not my experience.

If we knew who came through our open borders, where all of them are, and what the intentions of some are, perhaps I can agree with you.

But we don't.

You may disregard Christopher Ray's is warnings. I sure don't.

What is your experience which you claim to have, with open border immigrant entries?

One of my best friends is from the Czech Republic. I learned there is a good sized Czech community here in the Ozarks. Almost all worked in the cleaning business, my friend cleaned most of the movie theaters here in Springfield. Terrible hours, 1 to 4 or 5 am. There are jobs for which there is very little competition. He saved every dollar and budgeted really carefully. All the other immigrant workers I met were very nice as well. Almost all, including my friend were on expired visas or had entered illegally. Most crossed the border from Mexico into Texas. How they end up in Mexico from Europe varies. My friend lived with me for about 6 months. We remain in constant contact. He now lives on New Zealand legally and is working on becoming a journeyman electrician. Without his chance here in Missouri it would have been almost impossible to plan his life as he wanted.

Sure it’s a small sample size but throughout my life I have had great relationships with people from other countries, and I never ask or care if they’re here illegally. Heck, I break the law on my Tuono all the time.

I agree with your notes on legal immigrants. I am one. We appreciate what America has to offer, that being the reason we are here. We try and contribute as much as we can.

Your earlier post as well as this one is not relevant though to what I wrote regarding our open and uncontrolled borders, with thousands crossing illegally. That is both a major concern, as well as a security risk. I can assure you a number of those do not have the best interests of this country at heart. Their disrespect for rules, regulation and the law, should give you an idea of what we are dealing with.

I can respect that a number of illegals are prone to being criminals, as are a number of US citizens. Statistics show it’s about even percentage wise. Equating illegal aliens with criminals is not just. That said, comparing crossing a border with breaking traffic laws is a stretch but we make calls based on our best judgment. Some, most, illegal aliens make the same call coming here. If they are criminals based on that I am too.

Do I detect support for our open borders?
