WHY ME????

Lyle and everybody else: The security Torx T-20 bit is $1.99 at your local HomeBase. If you don't have a screwdriver that accepts bits, use your wrench set with the 1/4" socket and slide the bit in. Also, the mercury sticks worked perfectly for me. The TB were not that bad as I thought. I think the poor idle in the '00 bikes is because of the fact that the timing is 11ºin the outer pistons and 3ºin the inner ones. Johnnycheese is working on the 'why's' of that issue, so don't worry on the not-perfect idle. My plugs were loose as well; I installed new ones and went 3/8 of a turn after sitting to compress the washer. The torque value is obviously wrong because it doesn't even compress the washer, and even 24K gold can take it. Just my opinion.

NEVER TRY TO FORCE A SHIFT BACK INTO GEAR FROM A FALSE!! PULL IN THE CLUTCH COAST TO A STOP TURN OFF BIKE AND THEN SHIFT BACKIN IN GEAR.SLAMMING SPINNING GEARS THAT ARE NOT INSYNC IS ONLY GOING TO CAUSE DAMAGE AND COMPOUND THE PROBLEM.TREAT YOUR TRANNY WITH LOVE AND CARE AND IT WILL BREAK IN RIGHT AND YOU WONT HAVE PROBLEMS AFTER A FEW THOSAND MILES.

The 5th to 6th shifting issue went away when I stopped using the clutch. I no longer use the clutch on the 4th to 5th or 5th to 6th transitions. After I change to synthetic I expect it will be gone totally. Now I just have to take care of the off idle stumble and I'll be set.

Valklex... The Suzi TPS screws have a little pin in the center REQUIRING a Suzi wrench not a Torx T-20. Once you have them loosened you can throw the Suzi proprietary screws in the s-can and put proper T-20's in.

Omega... Did you get your Blue '00 dialed in this weekend. We're hoping your tranny problems go away with only trivial fixes.

Can you guess what fixed it ??

I had a very similar problem with my 99 Busa the other day. I rode to the dealership to retreive a deposit I had on a 2000 Busa. My Busa has been in and out the shop since I've had it. It had been running great for the last 2 weeks so I thought everything was fine. After retreiving my deposit on the new Busa, I rode home thinking of the money I just saved, until I stopped at a stop sign, went to release the clutch in 1st gear, all i heard was what sounded like marbels in the lower part of the engine and grinding. I tried the clutch again same thing. the dealer came came and picked the bike up this morning. Guess I'll have a 2000 Busa by the end of the week. If all the work is covered under warranty that is.

Thats some serious shitt......please keep us updated on what happens.

continued my story on topic titled "Lemon Busa" no offense to all the superb running machines out there but there's always one or two bad apples in a bunch.
