He thought he was going to fast. Im guessing he was ahead of the other rider so he could afford to get on the brakes
im a little new to the whole drag racing thing, but isn't that called "sand bagging"??? not running all out ?? and why race a low 9s bike in a 9.5 class?
please enlighten me. (im really not trying to hack on ya, im really curious.)
Eric, you have said a couple times that your gear saved you. besides the komodo drag suit, what else did you have on?
i don't suppose insurance is gonna cover your bike...is it?
lease: still just glad you lived to tell the tale.
Red1100cc, Thats not really "sand bagging" here is an example It happens alot in "grudge" racing . you know your bike can run 9.0's . If your racing another bike that also does 9.0's, you dont tell the other racer that. You tellem that it runs only 9.20 and in the negotiations for the grudge race he mite say lets run it heads up . Well your not going to run it all out. You just might short shift it or not launch as hard , or at the line you ease off the throttle. The next time out you say " I need a couple of bike lengths to even it out. The other guy mite give you 1 bike length and thats when you run it all out cuz buy him giving you 1 length you just gained the advantage by "sand bagging" on that 1st run. Its kinda like in poker where you dont really "show" your hand you might bluff your opponent into folding. Its not really cheating, its more of a mind game between the racers.
as far as the insurance even if its a street bike and its legal to ride it on the street, it wont be covered if it gets wrecked while racing.
Hit me up if you guys come up. I have two more weekends to work and then I'll be going out there almost every weekend.
