ive been a member at CPF for quite a while and owned many different flashlights over the years including HID flashlights and LED flashlights and none of the LED flashlights were ever as bright as an HID flashlight.

the advantage of an LED is there is no warm up time. although, there are HID flashlights with technology that does not require a warm up period before reaching full power of lumen throw Polarion PF40 "Helios" 40-watt HID Searchlight /Spotlight / Flashlight

LED's draw less power and last longer but ur most powerful lights are still HID and I dont see that changing anytime soon.

If LED's were brighter then HID's then ur top car manufactors would be using them for primary light. maybe they will in the future. LED flashlights have come a long way over the last few years and who knows maybe they will replace HID's in the future.
