When the dealer delivered my bike, they damaged the front cowl. They replaced it after some back and forth. Well, while removing my panels, guess what I discovered? They ruined the inner pannel piece that goes into the grommet on the top of the frame...on both pannels. And, one of the screws connecting the front cowl was missing. This explains the gaps. Does anyone know how much those inner pannel cost or can it be repaired, which I doubt. Any recommendations.
Now the good news. The R-22 full system install went well. Looks and sounds sweet.
Will post pics when I get a chance.

Damn that sucks man. Sorry to hear about the dealership misshap. Ill see if I cant dig somethin up for ya.

That would be great. Someone one posted about being careful because this could happen. So I knew what to watch for. Obviously, the dealer will not claim ownership for this one. Was going to install chrome clutch cover, so I get to tangle with the bear again.

If they don't want to fix their problems then sounds like it's time to go above them.
Give a call to Suzuki and let them know.

I'd look for another dealer to make it right. If you give your general area, maybe some members can recommend a shop.

I normally do my own work for this vary reason. I am not really looking for a dealership,
just need to know if it can be repaired and/or how much replacement cost.
The dealership that did it, is going to say I did it. So we will go back and forth.
I'm in Detroit, MI.

Why would the dealer take off the sides to replace the cowl, let alone break them? My new 08 arrived at my place of business with a tie town rub on the front cowl... showed it to the driver before he left and had no issues getting a new one. I put it on and you don't have to take the sides off. I have had it off at least 3 or 4 more times without taking off the sides and I have had the sides off without taking off the front cowl... that's how they are designed to work..

Are you sure you didn't do it.... Dealers sure get a lot of unnecessary crap and if they did do it I don't see why they would have any issue fixing it.

Considering you're more interested in fixing it rather than approaching the dealer tells me otherwise.

The place that I purchased the bike from is 1-1/2 hours away. I had my swingarm(chrome), wheels (chromed)and the cowl replaced. They had my bike from March 1-June 1 for this work.
I have not approached the dealer yet for because of convience and cost (don't know what it going to cost to replace).
I followed the directions on how this should be removed and I did go slow. While removing things, I saw screws missing. As I explained, there were some gaps. Yes, it is possible that I could have broke the clips, but the information posted in the forums tell you to be wacthful of these. This is where I would get into the back and forth with the dealer.
I am more interested in fixing, because I want to ride and it is a part of looking at all my options.

Boy would I be a pain in their A ** until they fixed that mishap ! Isn't it a shame when you buy a bike that you have to be afraid to take it to a dealer because you fear for the damage they will do?
