WTH? Anybody ever seen THIS before? Round stuck in Glock Barrel?

Keith, I'm really glad she caught the malfunction in time. You should definitely let the good folks at Winchester/Olin know about this. They may want the rest of the box back for inspection, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if you received a good sized shipment of replacement ammo in return.

These were not reloads (see box pic). I tried tapping it out first without success. They shot the rest of the box without incident.

The above is what a quote should look like.

And my point was that the lot number is printed on the box.

But yes, let's start a game of pointing out errors, if that's what you'd like to do. :poke:

Maybe I am seeing things but just for giggles I would meausre the slug and see what it mics out to. should measure .355"

I have had this a few times but never with factory ammo.

Chinese knock-offs...

Nope the round measured out correctly. I took the barrel to 2 separate Glock Armorers I know today; both inspected barrel and said it was GTG. One of them said that a few years ago Winchester recalled all "white box" ammo. I sent them an email and we'll see if they respond. I'm going to go proof it tomorrow.

Squib load like others said. I'm sure you'll have no issues with much else but there's always a percentage err when mass producing a product. Luckily she caught it.

Hope all else turns out well. I'd let them know and give them lot numbers.

Wow, my question is how did she catch it? I don't there there's any chance I would have seen that if I had more rounds left!

It's usually obvious something is different when a "squib" load fires, just not right. Recoil, noise, no ejection maybe, etc. I've experienced one while shooting a .303 round years ago. You could tell the recoil was not as usual....a .303 has a significant kick though. I say good for her knowing something was just not right!

The charge wasn't even strong enough to action the slide, so she had something obviously wrong. I dunno, I might have considered it a misfire and charged/fired another round...

+1, I'de be curious to know if the diameter of the round was within spec too.

EDIT, nevermind, just read post #25, and it was within spec.
